What is shocking is that in 18th iteration of the best mobile operating system we still don’t have independent volume controls for notifications, incoming calls and media. Option for numbers row in keyboard automatic caller identification, dialer that actually can suggest contacts as you type, I would much rather have that than all this nonsense. You can see they are out of ideas when they have to copy others or depend on Open AI to bring feature to customers.

Kind of. It’s in public beta testing, but I wouldn’t recommend installing it, since betas are unstable and have a lot of bugs. the final update will be out this fall for all users then

As nice as some of these updates may be, it's just another example of Apple being WAY late in the game when it comes to implementing features that have been in Android phones for DECADES now. And that's coming from someone who used to use his iPhone nonstop before switching to an android phone last fall! It's pretty dang ridiculous seeing them treat these additions as something that's that revolutionary when they themselves have been having their heads up their own butts for so long when they could've spent time putting these on their devices sooner instead of removing features from their software. Not to mention them wasting time and money on that bloody car in top of making so many anti consumer decisions on top of that.

It is actually hardware limitation. Even small ml models takes 2-3 gb of ram which wont be problem over iphone 15 pro cuz they have 8 gb of ram. Under 15 will be problem as they have lesser ram.

Dont spread misinformation. It is genuinely a hardware issue, hence why the older iPad Airs *can* still use it. It requires a good NPU in order to run AI models locally. Older iPhones don’t have this. This isn’t something that will be added later, because its physically an impossible thing to do on older iPhones.

I was a big anti apple person for years but figured I’d try iPhone back in 2019. I got a 6s for like 200 brand new at Walmart and was surprised how much I liked it, I ended up moving up the iPhone line until I got the 14 pro right after it came out and over a year later it’s just as fast as the day I bought it. I now have everything apple from the iPad, AirPods Pro a couple MacBook pros and just upgraded my Apple Watch from the 8 to a 45mm series 9 and was able to give my mom my series 8. I keep the whole house in apple products lol I upgrade my device then my mom gets my old devices and then my sister gets her old ones. If you are anti apple trust me I get it but it’s so nice how everything works seamlessly between all apple products
