When you cut EVERYONE out, you are really reducing the overall value of your product. It also makes it far more attractive for alternates to come along and compete against you. iOS 18.1?! I’m on 18.0.1 and Apple hasn’t released the official point one update of iOS 18 yet. Guess this is a beta version of the OS. Plus, I’ve changed iPhone batteries in the past with “larger capacities.” And the aftermarket power cells were basically lying. Battery life were much less than advertised and the battery would die within a few months.
@JessaJonesАй бұрын
There are plenty of crap batteries out there, and any that advertise as “extra capacity” do tend to be bad. However the xcap batteries from Injured Gadgets are very reliable. IMPORTEND !!!! Hello, Here is an iPhone 12 Pro with iOS 18.1 It is indeed possible to place a new battery with a larger capacity, without it saying that it is not an original battery and it gives 100% capacity. I have placed a battery from Kilix with 10% more capacity, placed the original motherboard of the battery on it and then restored via iMac (iOS 18.1). It said that the battery was not the original with 100% capacity. (just like you said). But then I restored the device with iOS 18.1 via iMac again and now it no longer says anything about the battery not being original and there is even nothing to be found that it has been replaced and is still 100%.

As the new iOS 18.1 got publicly released, true tone is restored *but* auto-brightness is still an issue. @@JessaJones ah, i see. @@JessaJonesThen why draw the conclusion that a third party battery-that you can't verify-is better than an OEM battery, just because it shows higher capacity? This is exactly the reason why they weren't showing battery health for third party batteries until now. Even then they have to indicate that they can't verify it's claims nonetheless.
@JessaJonesАй бұрын
The battery health information was always visible in IOS since iPhone 5 for all batteries. Then Apple chose to HIDE this information when iPhone XS came out-keep in mind that this information has been hidden since then EVEN for an Apple-branded battery from a matching iPhone. If I put the exact same aftermarket battery in iPhone X to this day I can see battery health, then if I move that battery to iPhone XS the battery health is hidden. The conclusions I make come from experience, not “what the BMS says”. My experience is that XCAP batteries from injured gadgets were developed in China with the input and feedback of American IG employees. I know these guys personally and I believe in their product, and it is what I’ve installed in countless customer phones for years with no issues. These batteries do indeed perform similarly or better than Apple branded. From that experience the BMS report of mAh on these batteries seems reasonable. These batteries cost 50% less than Apple branded. With that said there are many low quality aftermarket batteries out there that I would never install, and I certainly would expect their BMS to be manipulated and false.
@wisdomyaw03Ай бұрын
@@JessaJones So your last paragraph is what is really essential in this discussion. It's great that the third party battery you use is one that can be trusted and performs well. But you know very well that the majority of such batteries(third party) on the market do not perform at a high quality standard and/or have deceptive metrics, as well as pose safety issues. In light of these uncertainties and the inability to verify the claims and performance of these batteries, it's reasonable, in my opinion, that Apple didn't show the battery percentage that such batteries were reporting because it's been proven that some of them fake it. Besides, which other phone manufacturer indicates their phones' battery health by default? Non!
@JessaJonesАй бұрын
@wisdomyaw03 what they are choosing to say in iOS now is reasonable-“unverified”. Followed by the Battery health. What they said before is unreasonable “service” followed by no information and a message that says “there is an issue with your battery”. That was a complete lie and extremely misleading. This misleading message is responsible IMO for a phone on my desk that has caught on fire. Most likely, there will be many scammers selling used devices who will say that the battery was changed quite recently, look, it says 100%! But in fact, the battery may already be significantly worn out.
