This is great! Confidence and believing that you are better than the players in the lobby is great if you want to climb! As long as it doesn't lead you to underestimating your opponent, saying that every mistake/death is "unlucky" instead of trying to figure out what you could have done better to prevent it, toxicity in chat, blaming your teammates for every thing, and bragging about your gold damage medal when all you've been doing is shooting the Rein shield etc.

This is frighteningly accurate, as this problem all the time in game and especially when I'm 1v1'ing my mates who are also really good at the game. When I 1v1 a random person I win 90% of the time because I'm chill about it, but when I verse my friends who I know are are a challenge I immediately start playing worse than normal BECAUSE of this!

SAME DUDE!!! Not ONCE did I care if I lost or gained SR, I just wanted to play ranked as DPS and better. My alt got to masters, but when I went back to my main I wasn't sure If I got lucky, If I could replicate this with my friends, if my friends even think I'm good enough to DPS for them, or If it was attributed to bad team mates on the enemy team. I kept doubting myself, and I still kinda do tbh. This video though, just lit the light bulb in my head to have the same mentality on my main as I do with my alt account.

i kinda did this by accident. I decided to main rhine and winston, and I knew i was better than the enemy rein as most reins (if we're being honest) only play rein to fill or because they feel they have to. so i went from high diamond to a career high of 4200. This explains why i flew up the ranks, as I was very aggressive towards the enemy

A real easy cure is to believe that you yourself are much better than your opponent. Whenever I see a Master in a game, I always say to myself..." Time to prove that I don't belong in my rank, I'm gonna whip him and his team and we're gonna get a lot of SR doin it!"

Its so frustrating that my college (which is where I spend the vast majority of my time) has the internet set up so that the VOICE CHAT is blocked. I can play just fine, but I can't communicate (or listen to teammates). I am confident in my skill that I have what it takes to reach Master. But not being able to communicate feels like a huge handicap sometimes. I was at home over Spring break and I climbed significantly in one night b/c of voice chat. When i can't talk I automatically feel alot less confident. I can still climb and I tend to win the majority of my games, but man does it feel much harder than I think it should be. Great video btw!

THIS is so freaking accurate. I am a diamond tier player and I indeed get scared of my enemies every now and then. Just yesterday I played from my friends account (2100 SR) and I was playing with no fear at all, mentally i knew I am better than the people in this match and I went 52-5 with soldier. Meanwhile on my own account, I am usually so scared I don't play DPS. Also, I thought winston sucks big time until I discovered XQC who reached top 500 by playing mostly just winston, that is when I told myself that its not the hero its me who doesn't know how to use it. After about a few hours of practice (knowing that its possible to win with him), I started dominating as winston and currently have a win rate of 61 percent with him. ioStux you are a true coach dude! I love your channel.

Holy shit this is true on so many levels. When I reached GM I started getting scared of making plays on Genji. Because of this, I started thinking that my Genji was very bad because my performance was poor. I realized I was playing very scared when I deranked some and started playing with low masters. I ended up going for more plays and actually did very good again.

This seriously helped me. Ive been playing Rein all seasons (pretty much....) and its not because I wanted to, its because no one else plays him (atleast that is what it looks like in high diamond) and I had to take the bullet. Been practicing my aim and way of thinking as a DPS and I just played a couple of matches as a DPS, it felt wrong and naughty but it payed off, I really was the only one holding my self back thinking it was my teammates.... I feel so ashamed now, but I also feel good :"D

I think the best thing for me was playing against Masters mcrees as genji in qp (I was in gold then lul), especially since it was qp because I could try whatever I wanted with no repercussions which taught me a lot about what you can get away with as genji so I can focus on the mechanics I need to take those risks

You just described me in the beginning lol I'm a diamond player with a smurf in gold and on my smurf I just pick symmetra and melt the whole enemy team and I don't even worry about taking fights such as a 1v3 because I can melt the enemies and they barely ever shoot me.

When the PTR had ranked I was Bronze and was afraid of their Silvers but I beat a Silver Sym as Mercy. In Capture the Flag on Sunday there was this really good Diamond Widow and some Platinums on their team but I supported my team as Zarya (we had some Golds) and did really well and even got the second most damage only to our Junkrat and gold eliminations.

Well I don't get it. In your video about tilt you say we should stop setting high expectations, in your confident humility video you say there should be a balance between confidence and humility, but here you say we should have "the confidence of a god", watch pro-players and expect that "if he can do it I can too" - i.e. expecting to be able to win. So which is it? Should we have expectations or no? Should we be confident like some god or balanced?
@lazi215 жыл бұрын
So what is the difference to your video about tilt where you talk about having no expectations when wanting to perform well?
@scaltra67095 жыл бұрын
I would imagine the idea is to have no expectations outside of your own performance. You should push yourself and if you loss take that loss on the chin and learn what you could have done better. Have the confidence in your own play to believe that you can defeat your opponent but do not blame your team or get upset when you loss. The idea is to not have expectations as expectations lead to tilt because of entitlement.

Doesn't this contradict your forcing video... in that video you say not to take risks, but in this video we need to take risks?
@ioStux7 жыл бұрын
There is a difference between performing and practicing. If you want to perform, then you don't take risk, you always go for the most consistent play available. However If you need experience and practice to know what play is the most consistent, and the only way to find that out is to test your limits. Imagine you being a Pro player. in your Scrimms and Practice Matches you would take alot of risks and try out new strats, but in Tournaments you are only going to do what has proven itself in the practice.
