Certain types of mics pick up more background noise, or capture more noise from other directions. If eliminating background noise is a priority, you’ll want to go with a cardioid or supercardioid dynamic microphone, or perhaps a shotgun mic if recording outdoors. One thing you can do that could help is getting the mic closer to your face or talking more loudly - this way the background noise is quieter relative to your voice, or whatever it is that you’re recording!
