I'm not a fan of either team but for whatever reason I watch this play right at the start of every season. I think about how beautiful the atmosphere was that day and how wild the crowd was as that int unfolded. And when I heard Tyler Sash had passed away, this video was the first thing I thought of. i was at this game. my gma before she passed away in 2020 used to buy season tickets to iowa games every year since the mid 80s so i’m a big iowa fan obviously. you’re right though when he picked it off and lateraled it the crowd got louder and the closer hyde got to the endzone i remember the crowd was getting louder like “NO WAY! NO WAY!” then the place just exploded when he dove for it and made it

Tyler Sash is a very special athlete. This is coming from a die hard Michigan fan. Iowa was one of my favorites during the 09-10 seasons and I thought they had so much potential and even enough to get to the national title game. Great team and so fun to watch.

Seriously one of the best plays in Iowa history and in the NCAA. You don’t see a lot of interceptions lateralled off like that and to have it work like it did. Most players will keep it and try to score themselves. Sash was a team player and so electric on that defense. He will be missed dearly and never forgotten in Hawkeye Nation. Thank you for the memories, #9.

Iowa makes Michigan State look like little boys every year. After this game, you could tell that Michigan State was just a fluke this season and they proved it by completely blowing the Capital One bowl for the Big Ten. Hopefully one day, the rest of the Big Ten will be as good as Iowa is in the bowl games, but until then, the Hawkeyes are just gonna have to carry the torch alone.

@ivegotalongdong an overpaid head coach that completely turned around a dead program in 3 years. Produced the most active NFL players of any other college coach in the game right now. Recruiting in the top 35 every year in a state with absolutely no in state talent. Being to a bowl 9 out of the last 10 seasons, not to mention 2 BCS bowl births. And he is noted as one of the top coaches in the country. I don't think Iowa could find a better fit than Ferentz, and if they did, it wouldnt cost less.
