Hey everyone and welcome back to Iowa Classic Cars! Today's video is the first of three where we tour a massive classic car salvage yard located in the midwest. The owner asked me not to share info YET, but once he gets a bit more caught up and I get the last car out of here that I bought, we will share info! In this junkyard there are tons of muscle cars, Chevelles, impalas, etc, as well as many old 4 doors and wagons. Salvage yards like these are becoming less and less common, and ones with nice owners is even more rare! I hope you all enjoy the video and will subscribe to see more junkyard tours like this in the future!
thanks for watching!

Awesome videos. Love seeing the old cars. Reminds me of days gone past. Love seeing you save what you can. I recently picked up a 60 Pontiac Catalina 2dr hardtop. Being so close to the Impala, I’m surprised you don’t see more of them. They made 27K of them so there should be some around. I really wanted the Impala, though it was just a little out of my price range. The Pontiac was the next best thing. Take care.

Wow, that was a sweet salvage yard. Haven't seen one like that, around my area (Boston) since the 80's. Sure brought back lots of fond memories. The 1st car that you thought was a 71-72 GTO. Was actually a Verdero green 68 GTO. which was my very 1st car, same color and all. Tech tip...68 and 69 are very similar looking, especially from the side, but 68's had the vent windows and 69 did not. Liked the 69 Cutlass and really liked the 68 Cutlass convertible at the end, as I have owned (5) 1968 Olds 442's and (1) 1967 442. Thanks for the video

The green GTO was a 1968, You should buy the 1962 stripped Belair shell with the solid floors! You can find them with good doors and front clip, It's always the body shell that rusts the worst! And the Chevelle is a 71/72 the 70 has double rectangular lights , Wildcat is a 68! I saw a rare car there, A blue 1972 Pontiac Luxury Lemans, The shell was in one spot and the front clip was in another! You nailed it on the Cutlass' the hardtop was a 69 and the convertible was a 68! Pontiacs and GTO'S are my favorites so the 68 GTO and the 72 Luxury Lemans got my blood pumping and then my second favorite cars are the Olds 442 and Cutlass so the 69 hardtop and 68 Cutlass convertible took it from there for me! I already have two GTO convertibles and a nice 71 Cutlass plus so many other cars that if I live to be 150 years old I won't get them all done! But I'm always looking at more!

The trim on the back of the '64 Impala SS is called "Engine Turned" Aluminum Trim. The term "Engine Turned" refers to the design that is on the Aluminum which came out in the 1920's on the dashes, firewalls and engines of cars back then. It is a very old design that is put into the metal. Tony K. :o)

The" GTO " is actually a Le Mans or Tempest. It's a 68. You can tell by the vent windows AKA wing windows.

Honestly I think your after the cars the others may walk past. The 56 is worth grabbing I seen a 67 chevelle ss worth grabbing and the back of a blue 69 camaro. Any of the 4 doors are and always have been unfortunately parts cars. Nose bumper rear bump deck lid and dash parts. Imho Cool video

Just like you I can identify any Impala from 58 to 76 before they starting making those ugly square body Impalas. I've owned a '63 Impala. a '64ss , a '66 ss and a 76 Impala custom. Regretably the only one I still own is my '76. Bought that car back in 77 and is still in great original condition. Great video!
