Going from CR to west of St Louis with my Lightning in a few weeks. Excited to use the Tesla chargers for the first time. Between here and St Louis there isn’t much besides the supercharger in Mt Pleasant and Hannibal. Tested the one we have in CR and plug and charge worked great.

Just go back to non automatic speed control and set your 10% over and it will not bother you any more. That is what I have done with my 12.5.4

Have a 2022 MYP running v12.5.4.1. Would appreciate your thoughts on whether or not you might have experienced anything like what I have on long trips. I completed a 1k mile trip this weekend. The nanny nag is largely gone, which is a great relief, and like you, I did not quite figure out what to do with my hands! 12.5.4.1 definitely behaves more human like also, great. I also have an MSP, and even with no internal camera, resting hand on steering wheel makes FSD enjoyable and nag-free! as well. My questions to you: 1. My MYP after passing vehicles on its own and making it back to the right lane, it really makes a beeline for it. It is rather frightening because it heads straight for the shoulder. At the last second, it makes a rather sharp turn to the left to straighten out, followed by a slight right turn again as if it oversteered. Then fine. My MSP does this very naturally and human like. 2. If a vehicle is behind me when FSD is passing in left lane, it wants to get back into the right lane seemingly too quickly. This is very concerning. Passing a few semi's on the highway this time, it felt as if FSD got back to the right lane too soon. Indeed, semi on navigation display had barely changed from red to blue indicating clear. But it feels as if FSD is cutting vehicles off. Indeed, each semi that I passed and FSD did this, I got the high-beam flashing or a honk from the semi behind me. It does feel as if FSD is cutting back over to right lane too soon. 3. The more frightening thing is that I got three instances of ghost braking on the interstate. In one of them, I had just passed a semi and manually forced FSD into the right lane (plenty of space), but my MYP suddenly slammed on the brakes for no apparent reason, and with semi right behind me! Intervened right away and floored it to get away from semi. I am sure driver of semi thought i might have been brake-checking him. Any of this for you? Thank you for your videos. I find that I still keep 1 hand on the wheel a lot of the time. Sometimes I'll hang onto my water bottle the way I used to rest my hand on the gear shift!

As a passenger, I'm typically looking at my phone. (Don't judge) That seems to be my problem when "driving" and I can't do what I'm used to.

Great video! Doing this same trip in 2 weeks from the Iowa city area. Will be the first road trip in an electric car. Does the car linger in the left lane? The few short trips I’ve taken it seems like I have to force it back to the right lane. I have the 30 day free trial of FSD

Bought our second MY a month ago and drove it down to AZ. I was offered FSD on a trial basis for a month. I attempted to use FSD multiple times with little success. I would be cruising along on I-25 and for no apparent reason, FSD would disengage. Very unsettling when it happens. The other issue I had was the speed limit, particularly when driving in-town. Once we got down to AZ I would attempt to use FSD. I would engage FSD in a 40MPH speed zone, but the car would accelerate to 55PPH and remain at the speed. I had the drive setting to “chill” with a 0MPH over the speed limit set. What we did enjoy using was self-parking and Absolutely Smart Summons (ASS). I will likely not purchase FSD after the trial ends. Thanks for your video, always learn something.

Idk when this was filmed but yesterday, Friday oct 4, I checked my battery / charge details on the M3. It is showing exactly 5% higher percentage than miles. So like what I’m seeing in this video, the percentage shows 5% higher than the can has to use. It wasn’t doing this before the v12.5.4 update. Before the update it was equal.

I get free supercharging so it’s hard to calculate for me. In general, Superchargers are similar to gas in a similar sized car. The real savings is when you charge at home - where most of your charging happens.

Hmmm. Curious to know why your hands were on the steering wheel at 1:15, 1:21, 1:25, 1:40 on a "Hands Free Tesla Road Trip". Your car's display shows FSD already engaged.

Sometimes my hands land on the steering wheel because of muscle memory. Had to relearn not to hang on the wheel. I also included a few places where I did have to take control - like a certain interchange. It was about 95+ hands free.

Entering and exiting highways is an issue for me... the merging is a problem on my end using hw3 on 12.5.4.1

Same for me starting with the first v of 12.5 in July. Traveling across the state I had to goose it to obtain my set speed and continue doing that the entire trip as FSd would continually back off from my set speed. It also ignored speed zones through towns along the way. Very annoying and it hasn’t gotten any better with updates.
