As an idea for future content, consider talking about a front grill mesh insert. Debris and leaves can enter through the front grill area and get trapped in the radiator, reducing the efficiency of the radiator (and therefore the ac), making the hvac work harder and possibly not getting as cold. A small rock could also enter the front grill at highway speeds and cause damage to the radiator, which may have happened to you. Not many KZbinrs have covered this, so it would be good info to get out. This could also lead to a future video on how to clean the radiator. Or, do the videos in the other order, clean out the radiator first, then install the front grill mesh cover to keep out future debris. Both are simple, and can be done by even the most novice at a cost of ~$30
@epcalderheadАй бұрын
Cleaned out my radiator last year after around 27K miles. I was surprised how much was already clogging up the fins. Added a mesh screen when I was done. Was planning to do this every 12K miles or so. Hoping the screen makes a difference.

This video confirms something I had suspected about Tesla Service. My very first interaction with them was for a list of small things from delivery. They initially gave me a 7 week wait time. Then a couple days before the service date they punted for an additional 5 weeks for "parts haven't arrived". I still haven't gotten in yet. Anyway, I believed all this delay was really because the issues are not ones that affect safety or drivability. I'm glad they got you in right away!

I have had similar experience with the East Mesa Service center. They also do a great job with quick mobile service. We also have the Mini Cooper (bmw service) and it recently had a warranty service check up and we got that video of the tires and around the electric Mini. I want to ask you about AC.. when I get in my Y by myself, I always go up on the screen and click on the rear AC, it then cools the car very fast.. I know that it is less efficient but I wish Tesla had an "arizona" mode for us, because having the air only on me, takes forever to cool the car in the summer.

Curious how the impact got there. Through the grill? No problems with the protective cover on the bottom? I have been considering one of the aftermarket aluminum skid plates. Bet skid plate peeps would sent you one for free.
@cgamigaАй бұрын
I got a skid plate, after near-miss w/ rock in road (partial tear thru fabric aero shield, right in front of the vulnerable tee coolant nipple on battery!)... much happier now. NOTE: I also tried getting some "coolant elbow guards" that go behind front wheels, protecting the side coolant lines, but... the mounting bolt was too long, and TOUCHED THE COOLANT HOSE it was trying to protect ! I verified w/ an endoscope wire camera, it was touching passenger side. I removed it and got refund, luckily seems no leaks. I read horror stories some amazon/other versions of similar product used POINTY SELF-TAPPING SCREWS (not flat tip bolt like mine), that *punctured* the very fragile coolant hose it was supposed to protect!!! Just ridiculous design/QA. Be careful out there w/ mods.
