I love it’s sleek design and everything but it costs 750 usd here in Pakistan for the base variant 64 gb WiFi version so it was way too overpriced so I went with the air 3 for 500 usd and happy to report that I love it.

you did forget to mention that the air does not have the promotion display, which is a factor for artists like me. currently trying to decide if I should get this, the Pro 2020, or wait for the 2021 Pro, because the latency matters on the 120hz display with the apple pencil

I’m a graphic designer (print and UI), not a professional illustrator (although I can draw and like to on occasion). I’m thinking an iPad would augment my workflow and allow me to illustrate, design patterns, do some hand lettering, etc. Am I correct in assuming the air is enough? Also, what’s the air’s layer limit on procreate at 300 dpi?

Id keep it for longer since it's only 2 gens old. Keep it for another year or two BUT if it still works well at that point I'd still keep it for one or 2 more years (I had a 1st Gen mini that lasted me 6yrs and it still works even to this day - I just don't use it because I upgraded) , if your iPad doesn't work well after 2-3 years then you can upgrade and not feel any doubt about wanting to do it.

Really having a hard time deciding between an iPad Air (4) 64gb with the magic keyboard and pencil or the new Pro 11” and wait/save for the extras. Wait for it to ship and wait for the pencil and keyboard as I save for a few months to get those accessories. Or get the 64 air. My budget is tight, but I’ll get the education discount. The difference between the 256 air and 128 pro is like $50. But the 64 air would give me room for those necessary accessories and no waiting. I sold my MacBook Air laptop to make this happen. I have a desktop iMac I rarely use. Main use for iPad will be writing papers, web browsing, email, bit of zoom, media consumption and streaming, reading, editing photos, note taking and light drawing. Playing some games. It will be my first iPad in many years and I’m really excited. What would you do? Is 64gb enough?

@@snowstarsparkle if you don’t use a matte screen protector like paperlike, it will last longer. A friend had paperlike and it ripped his pencil nib. I draw daily too for work. The nibs last me an easy year, and mostly change them after I drop the pencil

@@snowstarsparkle Using a matte screen protector can wear it down faster and how much pressure you use. If you have a heavy hand, then you'll definitely wear it down. Not an Apple Pencil, but my Wacom pen's tip has never been changed since the day I bought it. And I've had it for three years lol.

That’s scary, the amount of layers... my iPad Pro 2017 with 4Gb RAM can make 61 layers with those settings.... I’m now not so sure anymore about the iPad Air 4...

Yeah because the air has less RAM. If you don't use more than 15 layers then you're good to go and it shouldn't affect you (you can always switch back to your old pro for high resolution pieces if you think you might need the extra layer boost) but if you're an artist that doesn't utilize too many layers then you won't actually be impacted by it and still enjoy the air 4 :)

I'm already enjoying the freedom with the tab S6 lite so I personally don't believe the iPad is worth the cost with the pen. And infinite painter is already like Procreate and has some better features and tools too.

UPDATE for those who wants to know and for those who really can't spend the money on an apple case. The iPad pro 11 case does fit ! However you will need to modify the power button a bit to house the bigger touch ID button and the mic is now in the top centre of the iPad air instead of the pros 2 mics on the same location.

Brad: the bezels are a little bigger than I'm used to. Me (watching on a huion kamvas because I couldn't afford an iPad): *Dries my tears with the massive bezels I look at for 4 hours every day. Edit: just sold my tablet to buy an iPad and they aren't in stock right now. I have no bezels to dry my tears.

Hi Brad, RAM should be linked to the amount layers. But when I use my iPad Pro 2015 (which I thought has 4 gigs of RAM) and create the same document size of 2048 x 2048 pixels I get a 124 layers which is way way more than in your video. Do you know how that can be? Or does anyone else know?
