Something else to mention about the mini: you mentioned the display being laminated, but it also has true tone like the pricier ones, and something that wasn't mentioned at all is that the mini has the highest pixel density on its display of any of the ipads, so it's actually the clearest picture at the smallest display size, 326 ppi vs 264 on every other ipad model. Augh, I was hoping my beloved Mini wasn't going to be an afterthought. :( I run my entire proofreading business on my iPad Mini. No one has managed to convince me that the bigger iPads can do anything more than what my Mini can do for my needs (I get that the Pros are faster for graphic design and video work, plus gaming). I love the portable format and that it is so lightweight for reading on all day. I combine my Mini with an iPhone XR for extra screen space if I want to compare documents. I think that more people need to know that the Mini is a powerful device built for productivity, not just an ebook reader. I'm on my second on. With the first gen Pencil support, I'm not just annotating PDFs effectively, but also digital planning, managing my Airtable bases, working in Zoho sheets, and more. I love the new Scribble feature that came with iOS 14 and have met people who thought that the Mini doesn't get updates like that!

I own the iPad Pro 11” 2020 with 256GB. It’s really an astonishing device. What’s worth mentioning is that the 2020 iPad Pro have 6 GB RAM on every screen size and storage capacity compared to the iPad Air 4 (and iPad Pro 2018) having 4 GB of RAM. For most people it isn’t a dealbreaker. iPadOS is very efficient just like iOS on iPhone. Therefore Apple devices don’t require a large amount of RAM compared to Android devices. But for me, it’s a blissful experience to work with the iPad Pro. Great video. Kind regards, Emiel333.

The iPad Pro 12.9 is in a league of its own. The one suggestion I’d make to these reviewers is to speak about the many different use cases, not just as it pertains to chip performance or camera. For example, I have completely replaced the use of my laptop with my iPad Pro 12.9 and Magic Keyboard. I need it for general web apps, Keynote, Google Docs (a few apps to run a business) and then it turns into a creativity beast. I sing and can immediately record a tune, scribble down some notes to a song, jump into GarageBand (which is so incredibly underrated) record, all on this relatively small fan less device. Then I pass on to a producer who has more of a professional workflow. It has actually been really fun not having to use a laptop anymore. There’s just nothing like the versatility of what the iPad Pro offers me.

Also I happen to think Face ID works MUCH better on tablets and laptops than on iPhones, as you simply open the lid of your iPad Magic Keyboard / laptop lid and it unlocks.

You miss the usp of the portability of the mini. Working on location I often don't have space to put down a laptop, when so I take notes on a mini - the standard iPad is simply too heavy to hold in one hand and type with the other for multiple times per day and up to 1 hour each time - your hand will turn into a claw! I agree it's time for a refresh though - not because it's too slow, but simply because it could do with a bit more screen real-estate and then the keyboard would be a bit bigger - my typing might improve then :)
@jefft38143 жыл бұрын
Regarding the iPad mini, one key advantage of the size and portability that your viewers may like to know about concerns photography. I still use my second gen iPad mini as an external view finder with my Sony mirrorless camera and it is so much better than the tiny back display on these cameras. Wireless connectivity between the iPad and the camera and the "bigger" screen on the iPad make composing the image a much more enjoyable experience than trying to see anything from the tiny viewfinder or from the back display. Can't go out on a photo safari now without my iPad mini. Yes, smartphone has big screens now and can serve as an external viewfinder also, but from my experience, nothing beats the iPad mini for portability and the perfect size of the screen to compose a photo.

If they do a proper update to IPad mini (larger screen, faster processor, more storage and hopefully a better screen) this year then I would definitely buy it.

Do you think i should wait till the new ipad 9 comes out??
@ANAND-cj1hv3 жыл бұрын
Yeah and then you should also wait for releasing ipad 10th gen for comparing b/w both and then for 11th and so on and so forth.

If I was going to choose between the air and the pro 12.9”, what would you go for in terms of weight? And battery life?

I have the iPad mini 5 and it works great for school! all I’d ratter is a bigger screen and the gen 2 Apple Pencil to be able to use on it. It’s really weird charging too

I love the iPad Air 4 with 256GB because it perfect for studying Japanese and drawing and for all my classes and sometimes apps! And the 256GB will last me an long time before I need an upgrade. Right now I’m saving up for the an good iPad Pro but right now I only have 600 dollars

Currently in the market for a new iPad. We currently have an iPad Mini Gen. 2 with 32 gig. What's great with the Mini, it's a great size for popping it on the window sill while doing dishes and watching videos in the bed with one of those tablet holders that go around your neck. I was thinking of upsizing to larger iPad for more storage and better performance. We went to an electronics store over the weekend and was just confused over the different models of iPad. Thanks for the video. Will probably pick up the Air 256 gig version for Father's Day!

Well, the best depend in what you uses it. A friend saved money for a year and half to buy the iPad Pro 12.9 and second gen pencil because she works in art and she needs a bigger screen. That iPad never get out of her house because she scared someone rob her! If you only use internet to watch videos or read novel, a normal iPad or an iPad air are more than enough!
