I started using mine today with my new IPAD Air. Advice. Lock the screen in horizontal mode. I bought my Keyboard at Best Buy, and a day later, I ordered my IPAD Air from Apple online. After my purchases, I called Apple and asked them to add my IPAD AppleCare to the keyboard. No extra charge. They did it, although AppleCare terms state the keyboard should be on the same receipt. Mine is the 11 inch, and I really like it. Several months back, I had Carpal Tunnel symptoms, probably caused by spending many hours on the couch, holding an IPAD up by one hand/arm. Now, it’s a pleasure to use on the couch. I thought I would be taking the IPAD off the keyboard, to use on the couch. Not now.

I still use mine and never really had any big issues with it. Still no dents or scratches on my case which is a good thing. My only issue with it is not being able to flip it around so I can draw on it or take notes with my pencil. I understand you can take it off and do those things but I feel like that was a miss on their end. They could have added a stop to prevent it from going all the way back and then you press a button and lets it fold flat.

I’ve been a PC owner since the late 1980’s. I’ve always wanted to switch over to Apple, but just couldn’t justify the move. Than Apple came out with the 2020 iPad Pro (12.9 {I wanted the full size keyboard} with 512GB), iPadOS 14 and the Magic Keyboard (which is still in brand new condition)! I went ALL in to see if I could finally make the switch. Well I made the purchases in April and now 7 months later, I’ve added the Magic Trackpad 2 and two HomePods! My PC has been handed down and my PC Laptop has been put in a carrying case and stored away in the closet. Who knew these devices would change my life in such a dramatic way. LOVE my 2020 setup and I’m all in and not looking back! Thanks Apple and thanks for making another great video.

I love mine with my 12.9 Pro. I'll definitely pickup that SopiGuard. One thing that was annoying when I first got it was there was no keyboard support for the KZbin app. They must have updated it because the other day I found I was able to use the space bar to stop and start videos and also use the arrow keys to fast forward and rewind. Great product but yeah, I wish it was more durable.

Have been using it and turns out it is being used for a different purpose than expected. I expected to remove the IPAD from the keyboard to use it on the couch. However, it is so compact and stable, I don’t detach it. I love using it on my couch. It has the benefit of an IPAD, larger print, vibrant colors, apps, and the keyboard keeps it at the perfect ergonomic position. Much easier on the eyes than my MacBook. Anyone that likes to use the IPAD on a couch on a continual basis, even if only for media consumption, should consider this keyboard. Glad I bought it.

After about 3 week of using it I had to sell and get a BT keyboard (Logi K780) and a Magic Trackpad. The main problem for me is that if I want to switch from working mode to "watching a movie in bed" mode I hav to switch to a smart folio. The lip in K780 holds a 12.9" iPro with an official Smart Folio quite good. Also I'm from Russia and Apple did some weird things to Russian layout which makes it a jarring experience for someone who uses mainly a Windows PC for work. And the trackpad is just so good. Only downside is that it uses a Lightning port for charging for whatever reason.

I have the 12.9 and the keyboard size is nice. I’m not a big function key user, so that’s not something that’s a deal breaker. Backlighting for me has always been cool only because I like lights.... For typing, I don’t use sight for finding/hitting keys. I’ve heard complaints about the size and weight and I don’t get it. It feels “solid” and I like it. I came from the 2nd Gen iPad Pro with a beast of a case. So, this is nothing for me. The only thing I don’t like is Apple Pencil storage. Having it on top is nice/great when I’m using the device. But, walking around...? Not so much. I purchased a sling, and that seems to fix the problem. Overall, I love this thing. It was expensive, but that pain seemed to dissipate quickly after purchase! I’m all about getting what I like and want. Saving $100-200 for a cheaper option means nothing if I don’t like the product. I use a Dbrand cover for the Magic Keyboad and iPad. Great.

I had a problem with the battery drain problem when using the magic keyboard, its like when i attach the ipad to the magic keyboard the battery immediately decrease like crazy without using it and after i detach the ipad battery still decreasing until i restart the device. After i complained to the store they tested my magic keyboard using 2 different iPad 2020 12.9inch and they worked just fine with no battery drain problem. So we came to a conclusion the problem is with my ipad and they gave me a new one and there it work just fine without battery problem when attaching to the magic keyboard. The difference setup between the two ipad is the first one (the battery drain ipad) i set it using an existing apple id and icloud from the beginning setup and the second ipad (no battery problem) i set it up in the beginning like a new ipad and set the apple id and icloud later. I don’t know whether that was the case or not, i thought it just worth mentioning the difference beginning setup. Oh and both of them are the newest iOS 14 when i tested them on the magic keyboard.

Because of misinformation in some articles, I called Apple. The initial Rep wasn't sure. She checked with the AppleCare division. It does need to be on the same receipt. I was not aware of this. She suggested I call Apple back when my Ipad Air arrives, give them all three serial numbers, and ask them to add it. I bought all three on separate receipts within 3 days of each other. The Keyboard from BB, the other two from Apple. I had some bad information. I relied on an article from I-More, which was dead wrong. Apple should be clear on making this known.

Help. Too much conflicting information caused by Apple keeping the Magic Keyboard name on different generations. I called Apple and the rep obviously didn’t have one and couldn’t help. He sent me an article, which clearly didn’t apply to the new keyboard. These have a USB-C port. Do I charge an internal battery in the keyboard, using that port. The rep told me to use the lightning port. It doesn’t have one. I plugged in my MacBook 12 USB-C charger into the USB-C on the keyboard. I don’t see any lights telling me it’s charging. I know prior Apple keyboards had no battery, I believe this one does, and lack of info is appalling.

Guten Morgen, Mr. Schulze! Thanks for the latest vid. Those 2 nicks, dings, “damage” are better known as “battle scars” and there is absolutely nothing wrong with them. See the movie “Jaws” and you’d see what I mean. Hey, who knows, perhaps in the future, besides skins to cover the iPad, someone would come out with the idea of “tattoos” theme skins? LOL!!!. I still have the original iPad Pro mated to a Logitech keyboard. Needless to say, it doesn’t have the floating, magnetized option of Apple’s latest iteration, but it has that much missing.....option...function keys. With Logitech’s function keys, the keyboard backlight can be controlled easily, adjusting its brightness, and even, turning off the backlight altogether, saving the battery’s energy density in the process. I see no problem whatsoever with your keyboard. I do NOT (emphasis on NOT) like Logitech’s “boxed” option but I guess it has something to do with licensing issues. But definitely having that function key option is a MUST in my case. I am a person that likes a mouse’s feedback, the greatest support Apple could have developed for the iPad, since I am NOT (emphasis on NOT) fan of the trackpad. Not my cup of java, or tea if the user prefers, or fav beer due to Oktoberfest!. No matter how BIG a trackpad operational “real estate” might be, I simply cannot adapt to it. Also, bypassing the trackpad and sticking with the mouse, I’d have no issues on how deep or shallow the trackpad’s travel might be. I have an Apple TV streamer, and my goodness, I love it.......except its remote control; way too thin, way too sensitive, and way too flimsy. I do not have a carpet on the living room, a regular tile floor, dropping the Apple TV remote once, it cracked instantly. But somehow it still functions. There is a replacement by a company that its name escapes me at the moment, but it replaces the remote with a more traditional bulky style, with the exception of voice command/dictation, but I’d digress. I am crossing my fingers that Apple will come out with an iPad Pro 12.9 inch keyboard. But I might have to wait a tad longer, obviously next year, with a more powerful chip (like the latest iPad Air apple silicon) assuming my present iPad battery still holds its energy density charge. And talking about the future, cool “Future Jerry” visitation, I’d just wished you had a starry background since I am a fan of Star Trek, but I’d digress. Thanks again for your latest report, be safe, be well, be blessed!
@JerrySchulze4 жыл бұрын
Lots of good points here. I do miss the function keys and maybe the next iteration will have them. For Apple TV remote I have a silicon skin on them that is bright red. Log it. Much easier to find and to know which side is up. And good point about just using an external mouse. I frequently do that even with the magic keyboard. I like the Apple Magic Mouse 2 and the Magic track pad 2.
