Got a replacement unit in 2016 after I dropped it face down by accident. Last time I checked, it still works! Bought a pro 9.7 inch about 8 months later and just bought a used IPad Mini to replace it. Still keep my 3rd gen iPad because it has lots of iOS games on it that aren’t compatible with newer versions of iOS.

I own an iPad, iPad mini and an iPhone... One time I got so mad that I threw my iPhone and not even a single crack was seen. My iPad has been with me for like 5 or 4 years and it fell dozens of times but nothing happened to it. But then, just a month ago, I accidentally sat on my iPad mini.. Luckily it only had a few minor cracks on the side. I hope my devices will last longer...

We have iMacs in the office in London. Even a slight brush of sunlight was able to create dark spots on the LCD panel. Generally after 2 years their hard drives would run continuously above 42degree Celsius in idle. 10min of rendering can push it all the way to 68... Not build to last
@SakulRegnevelc11 жыл бұрын
every time you said you turned it off, you just pushed the hold button. you have to hold it and swipe the "power off" interface to actually turn it off. When the iPad turned itself back on while drying it off, that was because you bumped the hold button

I almost had a heart attack watching this Molly.....for each gruesome test i kept on thinking that little ipad wouldn't make it!...but it did make it...thanks Molly...Some people are now suggesting that Cnet is being paid by Apple to promote the new gen ipad which to me is absolute nonsense ....the drops,burns,freezes,bangs..were all real! The tests were done fairly! That is why am now heading down to the apple store to buy myself one...little ipad is nolonger little...he is a Warrior Ipad!

Anyone care to enlighten me as to why the test was so soft on the ipad? For the surface the heat test was 250° for 1 hour and for the cold test it was put in a real freezer for 2.5 hours. Drop test was from 7ft and for the wet test he didn't give it a chance to dry. Seems unfair..

If you were listening, she said she was basing the tests off by Apple's documented temperatures. For example, in the freezer, Apple said that the iPad could survive temperatures up to 32 degrees. She wanted to test Apple's word. It's different for all devices.

The iPad just reacted to the water that's why it went weird. The screen on most touch phones react to your fingers cuz of the electricity conducted through your finger, water is also a conductor of electricity so it responded when the water flowed on it...

legend has it the 3rd generation iPad uses a nokium alloy shell and adapted energy shielding derived from the nokia 3310 Apple didnt scale up she shields enough for total protection so while difficult it is certainly possible to destroy a 3rd generation iPad the nokium alloy shell has impurities which compromise its structural integrity somewhat but it is still stronger than any other tablet ever made to this day it is the most indestructible thing Apple has ever made which is why new iPads now use cheap alumunium and lack the energy shields that were present in the 3rd gen iPad apple engineered the perfect iPad but people were not breaking them so they made the next model as weak as wet plaster
