cnet.com/alwayson Molly Wood and Always On put the iPad through the show's first torture test. Can it withstand the hardships of extreme temperatures and or even being dropped on the floor?

On October 7, 2013, Wood announced she would leave CNET at the end of that month in order to pursue independent projects. ... Together with Marketplace host Kai Ryssdal, Wood began hosting the Marketplace podcast Make Me Smart with Kai and Molly on November 28, 2016. (Wikipedia)

I once used my iPad 3 in 25 degree weather and it still was operating smoothly. I also once left in a hot car for a few hours and it's still amazes me. My iPad sustains heavy use (i baby it) almost two years with no noticeable decrease in battery life

I own an iPad, iPad mini and an iPhone... One time I got so mad that I threw my iPhone and not even a single crack was seen. My iPad has been with me for like 5 or 4 years and it fell dozens of times but nothing happened to it. But then, just a month ago, I accidentally sat on my iPad mini.. Luckily it only had a few minor cracks on the side. I hope my devices will last longer...

We have iMacs in the office in London. Even a slight brush of sunlight was able to create dark spots on the LCD panel. Generally after 2 years their hard drives would run continuously above 42degree Celsius in idle. 10min of rendering can push it all the way to 68... Not build to last

And then I drop a small rock on the upper right corner of the screen, large crack right across from top-left to middle right, and from lower right to middle bottom. Funny how such small things can break a device when done in a specific way. Still usable though.

my ipad dropped today because my friend whacked it out of my hands by accident and now the whole screen is cracked and you can see in side the ipad on the left side, there's literally a larger crack on the side showing the inside of the ipad but surprisingly it still kinda works

Wow on the torture test for the surface rt they put it in a oven and with the iPad they always cover it
@JeeyounProductions12 жыл бұрын
this is the us and they use fahrenheit which in this case means that you left your ipad in a temperature of -22 degrees fahrenheit and in this video the ice box temperture of 31 fahrenheit converts to about 0.6 degrees celsius

every time you said you turned it off, you just pushed the hold button. you have to hold it and swipe the "power off" interface to actually turn it off. When the iPad turned itself back on while drying it off, that was because you bumped the hold button
@gunnarbates7710 жыл бұрын
I know this dumb bitch doesn't know how to turn things off. She just puts the ipad on sleep mode lmfao.
@marcushillary240011 жыл бұрын
I just watched the new surface RT torture test, and that was way harder. for example for the cold test there was no cover on it and the oven test he cooked an egg on the glass. It was grass and the water test was wine. this was a little soft of the ipad i think

Also, the drop tests here were done onto linoleum, which is a soft rubbery floor. Also, there were no direct corner hits; however it's all to be expected. CNET is in bed with apple.

The iPad just reacted to the water that's why it went weird. The screen on most touch phones react to your fingers cuz of the electricity conducted through your finger, water is also a conductor of electricity so it responded when the water flowed on it...

The ipad in water was glitching cause, "Ipads screens are capasitive touch, which means it uses little bit of your body electrons of your finger to move/open an app, and water has the same result as if it was finger's all over the screen"
