The Nokia seems to have recognize the subject much better, the iPhone just recognize one face of the subject then blur the rest. You can really see that in the cup and the street light.

0:28 Nokia messed up badly here, look below her right arm and above her shoulder. You can see a strip of the background branches completely sharp next to her body. Same problem with the boots (0:41), look at the edge on the middle (vertically) of left boot, again part of the background is sharp because the edge wasn't detected properly. At 0:57 the Nokia doesn't appear to have the effect on, you can get that exact picture with the iPhone and portrait mode off (there is a natural camera bokeh for close subjects like that). At 1:23 the iPhone missed some of the hair at the top (Nokia only missed some on the top-left), but it looks more natural than the artifacts in Nokia's pict at the bottom hair, right next to her mouth: again sharp non-blurred background being mixed with the subject (bright white pixels). 1:40 this one is definitely better on the Nokia. 1:52 lots of artifacts on the shoulder in Nokia's pict (sharp background showing through again). 2:23 Lots of people here comment this looks better on the Nokia, but the iPhone is doing a proper depth of field here, where the bokeh increases with distance, that's how it's supposed to look (you can edit the amount of bokeh, seems the author maxed it out in all iPhone pictures for some reason instead of using a more reasonable amount for such a close subject) 3:01 Nokia messed up badly, not only on the left edge of the glass where the background tile line is "coming into focus" the closer it gets to that edge, but on many of the black tile lines on the left of the picture In summary: I disagree with the score. Some of the iPhone pictures could look more natural with less bokeh, that the author seems to have maxed out, but since the iPhone records a depth map it lets you adjust the amount to look the way you want even after taking the picture, so that's just a matter of choice, you can tune it up to look as natural or as extreme as you want. Nokia seems to have lots of artifacts where the background seeps into sharpness near the subject edges, and some times randomly too (like the tiles at 3:01)

I actually like how the Nokia managed to get a certain subject in total focus without ruining the subjects' edges. Really impressed with it, but shame for the lack of telephoto sensor. That would be one heck of a camera setup.

I totally agree of the result, iPhone just look very unnatural and artificial, but it handles the exposure very well than nokia. But nokia is so pleasing in the eyes, sharp image, accurate color and look more natural even it struggles a little on lowlight scenario.

I know, that preference is a hard one to judge, but sorry to say Nokia, despite itś shortcomings beats out Iphone. The photos taken with N9 PV evoke more emotions when looking at pictures, the snow and latern scene, the lasagne in the oven and coffee cup at the lake side. Not pro photographer, but have been playing around with actual photo gear and even there is lenses in use depending what outcome you want to achieve and light, shutter and focus settings are adjusted accordingly. Also i always always compare the outcome with real life setting when i take any kind of picture, to capture colors as accurately as possible. If i want to play around with pictures later, we have editing apps/ software for change making, so yeah...Downright dislike what so many manufacturers do with their handhelds in regards of color accuracy. But i understand these are in general geared towards this so called point and shoot population wo do not care what outcome they get, bright, shiny , popping colors and they are happy :) Yes the Nokia has its shortcomings, but considering the fact that native camera app lets you adjust settings without the need to get 3rd party one, out of the box is way better than what Iphone lets you do.

I used N9PV for year. The weakness of this beast is camera software that drain too much battery and overheated itself LOL. Auto mode in lowlight it perform bad but if you good with Pro mode with RAW Capture in daylight or lowlight . No phone in it range can't be compare. PS. Sorry for my bad English.
