I personally LOVE heavy phone. They make me feel like I'm holding a premium device. This goes for both Android and iPhone. Funnily enough, I actually recently switched from Android to the iPhone 13 Pro for the very first time in 12 yrs because I wanted that flat design and the HEFT. It feels so damn good compared to my previous Galaxy S20 FE.

my mother bought me the pro max for my 20th birthday and it's a huge upgrade from my 5 year old slow, cracked and full iPhone 7+. I love the heavy feel of the phone and the flat design. The camera is outstanding and I cannot believe how fast this phone is. Still, we spent the same amount of money on it as I did on my gaming PC and that's insane but I feel like it's worth it for the quality I'm getting. A premium phone through and through

I agree that the stainless rails collect fingerprints like crazy, and that visually and weight distribution-wise, aluminum would have been better. However, I do know Apple keeps going this route since the iPhone X for function over form. Aluminum is so soft that the second you drop your phone onto an edge, it absorbs almost none of the kinetic shock and it just carries into the surrounding glass. Surgical-grade stainless steel at least has less of that problem. Apple does have a dedicated metallurgy department, so I'd love to see them work on some hybrid solution. Titanium immediately comes to mind.

I’m not an “environmental”. I won’t go out of my way to make excess waste but neither am I gonna compromise my standards of living to “save the planet”. If the economical alternative costs the same and results in an equal or better experience, I’m open to it. All that said… the plastic on the box was the most wasteful thing. Give me a free fast charger, the plastic wrap is gonna end up in the bin in 2 seconds so sure why not remove it.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I hated it on my 11 Pro. I'd rather the back glass be glossy and use a case than all the nastiness my 11 Pro collected on the sides even in the case. I've had a OnePlus 6T for the last 2 1/2 years after having an iPhone 6s for maybe 4, and it's giving me the shits so I'm coming back. Based on the camera system and the 120 Hz refresh rate making it 'feel' faster, getting anything other than the pro or the max doesn't feel truly like the upgrade I'm looking for. Especially for the money.

@@flankingfoxtrot I was keen to try android, but after a while the phone is getting slow and isn't as intuitive or optimised as I found iOS to be. Apps have missing functionality from their iOS counterparts since the developers need to be able to adapt to a bunch of different tweaks to the original Android OS that different phone manufacturers have. It's not for me and it's down to personal preference, but I'm glad I tried it at least.
