vivo x80 pro is getting more brighter and detailed photos in lowlight because it has f/1.6 larger aperture and v1+ isp chip which allows it to capture more light and process it more! it has nothing to do with the extra 2mp resolution! also the iPhone 14 pro max has a slightly larger main camera sensor (1/1.28") and then x80 pro has (1/1.31")

i knew vivo would smash it but it needs more stabilising with camera..think even when you sprinted the vivo got more detail in shoots even thou it jumped about more...more wins for vivo than the iphone

Unless you run with the camera, I don't think there are many scenarios when more stabilisation is needed. Most of the stuff you film is done standing still or moving in smooth motion.

Let's just agree to what Vivo is offering in its price segment is unparallel to any other brand right now. If you know how to use its supreme hardware, you can beat iPhone photos every single time. The video left us desired to do more, be it switching the lenses or quality of the video. But for what you're paying, Vivo is a clear winner even if is slightly behind $1100 flagship.

Absolutely!!!! X80PRO definitely takes better photos than IPHONE and Samsung. And once you learn the camera features it blows them out of that water. There's Zeiss natural color, different portrait modes, 6 different long exposure modes even one for fireworks, you get no lense flares when shining at lights, there Cinemanic mode is awesome, the VivoX80pro is so fun to use with all the camera features it's ridiculous how fun and crazy good the pictures come out.

My point of view. I think Vivo is actually trying to match the photos of real cameras, whitout over sharpening images. It can change with Vivo Superaw, which will beat iPhone in every way. But hey, some like this over sharpening on iPhone

It seems the Vivo has a shallower depth of field compared to the Iphone 14, rather than being less sharp as you mention in pictures like the road and the games controller. Part of the vivo picture is as sharp as the iphone - in the focal area - but the rest is our of focus. The picture of the dog; seems the vivo missed the focal point on the nose of the dog and focused on the ears. I actually prefer a shallower DOF but focal point is something you need to be more aware of. Great review, and gives me more incentive to buy the vivo. I'm just a bit worried about all the overheating issues reported (and subsequent throttling issues).

Most Android phone cameras have this "blinking" effects when taking videos - just like from @6:23, the video will dim and then bright and then dim again and it continues. iPhone video are so much more stable when comes to lighting in videos. I really hate that "blink" effects on Androids.

I went from Iphone 13 to Vivo X80 Pro as I did not like the Apple ecosystem and wanted a way back to Android without sacrificing on the photo and video departments. I wasn't expecting VIvo X80 Pro's camera to be so much better than that of Iphone 13 lol.

S22 is the king dude, haha. Cant argue right? photography at night? struggle to best S22 or 14Pro Max, but X80 Pro is still king of night photography dude. Your best camera on the planet is there. @@dmasmarty Brother every phone has pros and cons. Dxomark review camera and phone. This time number 1 camera phone is pixel 7 pro and honor magic 4 ultimate scoring 147. 2nd number is iPhone 14 pro scoring 146. ( But they don't included x80 pro yet) . So Basically they are all same. You couldn't see any difference on your open eye (without zooming). You can also edit them after taken. But I can say s22 ultra is king in telephoto and portrait mode. Pixel create flare sometimes but it's not so important but exposed lights so well on night time. S22 ultra produce light correctly. iphone 14 pro max looks brighter but sometimes over exposed. In term of daylight shoot in photography pixel is king and night time also maintain everything well balance ( but lagging behind in portrait mode🙃 ). In night time photography x80 pro and mi 12s ultra is king. After all every phone on this price produce good photo they are likely same you couldn't see any different on open eye they all have weakness on different side. So we should not argue 🙂

Could you take some pictures of your moving dog indoors in ambient light and in low light? I am having quite a big issue with my oppo find x3 pro when I am shooting my little son (whatever moving object) indoors or in lower light.. the pictures always come out blurred as he moves. My wife has iphone 12 mini and her photos are ten times better, not blurred at all in the same conditions. I really want to buy vivo x80 pro, but I am afraid, it wouldnt fix my problem. You would be huge life saviour if you could help me on this.

When I snap a picture of my son indoors where there is lower light or generally in low light conditions the picture is always blurry as he moves.. my wife's iphone freezes the movement perfectly, but I want an android phone

@@lubospokorny1723 Pictures of people or anything moving in low light will usually be blurry because the camera is compensating for low light by decreasing the shutterspeed. The longer the shutter is open, the more light hits the sensor, but also more risk of getting blurry images. Nothing is wrong with the camera, even a $3000 sony camera would have this issue in auto mode.

Yeah, I partially agree, I used to have a camera aswell few years back, so I know a little bit about shutter speed, iso and the other stuff.. the thing is, you can achieve brighter image with iso aswell, so I guess iphone compensates the low light by using more ISO instead of slower shutter speed and reduces noise in postprocessing, or the f/1.6 aperture must be quite helping in contrast to f/1.8 aperture cameras in other phones. I honestly do not know, how iphones manage these scenarios, but I swear they do.. I was doing side-by-side comparisons and they just manage somehow. So.. I am kinda looking at top android camera phones and finding out, which one can do as great job as iphones do and this one should be amongst the best. Let me know what you think, and if you have any suggestions. Cheers!

@@lubospokorny1723 you are right. The only way for a phone to keep the shutters peed high enough to freeze action in low light is to increase ISO. For most phones this would result in ugly noise, but perhaps apple worked out a good noise reduction algorithm. Most phones have a pro mode that let's you take control, but I realize quick reaction is often needed to catch the moment. The Vivo seems to have a market leading noise suppression, so I hope it has a high SS/high ISO mode that will still be clean

The only thing I can bet on for Vivo X80 Pro is the lens coating. It handles harsh lighting conditions very well and shoots in a variety of scenes very well. But in most cases pictures are not detailed, especially on humans and pavements. The color is very accurate but not in Zess mode as it only mute the color, sometimes extremely. And you get blurry photos in close up pictures which is the case for periscope phones cameras. I think Android should get away with periscope cameras and only rely on the telephoto ones and the main lens. If you get a periscope camera on the phone pictures are not going to be detailed on the main lens because of that periscope camera.

I appreciate the effort, but the comparison leaves out some things that can be improved upon. First, the gimbal on X80 Pro is on the telephoto. So, you've compared Standard stabilization with Action Mode on the iPhone. Vivo also has an ultra steady mode at 1080p 60fps. Vivo did quite well nonetheless, and it would be interesting to see ultra steady on Vivo vs action cam. Second, no comparisons of ZEISS portrait filters? Those are absolutely stunning, and in other comparisons, Vivo X80 and X80 Pro both wipe the iPhone at night for portraits. Try them out. Third, Vivo X80 series pixel bins in video at 1080p. This is something that most reviewers, if not all, have missed, even though they've found that Vivo in Portrait Video Mode really outperforms every other phone. Well, that's because it's 1080p and it's pixel binning there too. iPhone 13 series couldn't pixel bin. 14 can. Test them out. 4k on iPhone vs 4k on Vivo in low light and indoor light, and then 1080p on both. If iPhone is not pixel binning in 1080p, then also 4k vs 1080p. It'll make your comparison stand out. Good effort nonetheless. I love your doggo! Would've also been nice to see 1080p matched from Vivo. If I'm not mistaken, Vivo seemed like it changed the focus quicker. Will look forward to more detailed and thorough comparisons between these two. Subscribed and liked.

Over brightness in a night shot is not a good thing. When you have a DSLR you don’t set the shutter speed and iso to make a night shot look like day… you set it to make it look realistic and to capture the charm of night photography. So one being brighter does not mean better.

I would say that the iPhone won this battle. Even though Vivo has great colour, light control and detail, the iPhone is an Ace at stability and Video quality, Its sharpness attention to where detail should be seen was excellent, tho it was lackin' in the macro shots.

I have been using the x80 pro. The camera is bright but its useless. So inaccurate. Doesnt capture details in complicated pictures. My S21 has a waaay better software than the X80 pro. Just get the 14 pro or S22.

I am not an iPhone user but I think that almost every iPhone picture (videos anyway) looks better no matter if you pick it up into details. The Vivo X80 pro, which was so hyped, is disappointing for me here.
