I love my 15 plus got it last week. Left the house to take a 45-minute walk with 80% of battery life. I was listening to music and got on Instagram for a minute to watch a couple reels came home. Got some water now, I’m chilling commenting, and it just now got to 79%. I love the battery life. Oh and I was a 11 owner it was time for an upgrade.

It is hard for me to complain about the iPhone 15 Pro not getting more SOT than the base 15, as it only has 60Hz and uses a less powerful chip. So being so close was very good. The Pros have much smaller batteries than the Max and Plus; they trail those two. Much as expected. As for older phones getting less battery, my 3.5-year-old S20U with a 95% battery barely gets to 4 hours SOT just doing basic stuff, so I do not expect miracles. In that context, the iPhone SE did really well!

Almost every KZbinrs test these battery tests indoors where charging is never an issue. Can anyone make a battery test outdoor, under direct/partial sun, with brightness set to auto and using cellular instead of WiFi? That would be the “real” battery test.

Firstly, doing would be a massive pain. I mean, there might not even be sun for one, but even if there is, that means having to sit out in the sun the hours. Secondly, it's not that important. This is a general battery test, if X phone lasts 3 hours longer than Y phone in these tests, it can be assumed that it will last longer than Y phone in the real one too. There is no guarantee how much longer... but it will last longer. If we use your conditions, sure the phones will drainer longer / faster, but in comparison to the other phones, it'll be the same/similar. You are "not" supposed to watch these videos and say "I can only use my phone for 10 hours and 12 minutes". You should be able to say "I will be able to use my phone for much longer than if u were to but X phone" (no numbers mentioned, just "much longer" or "a little longer".

iPhone 15 Plus is the best iPhone I’ve ever used, genuinely impressed with everything. Would be interesting to see a 60Hz comparison although 60Hz would kind of defeat the purpose of paying unnecessary money for the Pro models. They also have a lot of flaws and issues of their own, some of which may get better over time but I wouldn’t count on it. The only reason to not choose 15 Plus is honestly if you have small hands - but the same goes for all plus sized devices released after iPhone 11 Pro Max. TLDR: I recommend iPhone 15 Plus

As a former user of iPhone 12 Pro Max I was able to get through 17hrs using it non-stop playing KZbin making phone calls in my pocket while working. Before getting home to plug up or place on charging dock I would be hitting 10%. I had my iPhone 12 Pro Max from launch 3 years plus. Just to add, I never had my screen brightness to 100%, it mostly remained in the middle or slightly below. Now that I have traded my iPhone 12 Pro Max in for the iPhone 15 Pro Max I can easily get over 24 to 30 hours from the same usage while the phone plays in my pocket. Before I get home after a 8 plus hour day the phone is sitting at 84% power. Note this will be different for every user.

My 12prmx also lasted me more than 12hrs with same brightness + usage as yours. It surprised me that people complained the 12prmx battery doesn't last as long compared to the 11prmx and the 13prmx when mine always outrun those two (my friends own 11prmx and 13prmx, we use them at the same time, same things, same setting, 100% battery health). My friends always had to borrow mine at the end of the day because theirs shut down. Anyways, I was wondering if it is worth upgrading to 15prmx, I think I have the answer LOL. Thanks!

Seems the battery life on the iPhone 15 series varies widely between users for some reason. Plenty of people are only getting 4-5 SOT with the pro/pro max. Be interesting to find out why it's so widely varied for a brand new device.

So far the first day the battery was terrible I’m guessing it had to optimize and I’m on the 2nd day it definitely got better so far and I made it through the day without the phone dying. I had 24% left when I normally had 44% on the max. So it’s around 20% less for now but I’m hoping it optimizes and I don’t have to return it or just deal with almost getting into low power mode at the end of the day

How on earth did you manage to do 7:10 on 15 pro? I bought one on release day (9:22) and the first day was 3.5hrs screen on time with cellular on, okay I admit I transfered data, maybe thats why, but next day 4 hours, and today a maximum of 5 hours screen on time. I use apple charger with original cable, and I turned off always on display, location, brightness is always on half. Please help how can I achieve 7:10 screen on time?
