I did see in another video that the camera control button does actually have a bit of sensitivity adjustment if I remember correctly, , if my grey matter is not failing me ( which does happen more often at my retirement age) , I believe you have to go into accessibility , please forgive me if I’m wrong , I don’t know how useful that is , but it may help.

@houstonbova3136Ай бұрын
I strongly disagree. I used to never take photos or videos. Now I’m taking them all the time. It’s super useful for anyone who found the touch screen stuff awkward to use / easy to forget about. Or if you have a kid sometimes you only get a couple seconds to get the photo and having one button to snap a photo or hold to record a video is a game changer for me. Yeah sure trying to do anything except the .5, 1, 2, 5 slider feels kind of awkward but I almost never use any of the other features anyways. I just want to grab a quick photo and not have to fuss about it.
@sansinutubeАй бұрын
I played with it at the store, so limited experience, but I did not find it awkward at all. I think most people use the flicking motion and lift their finger from the "button" hence the awkward experience. Instead, i found that if you keep your finger on the "button" and gently move your finger up and down instead of making a flicking motion, then you can control the camera smoothly.

It’s great that there are so many great choices is the phone market. My Samsung S21 just died and I brought an iPhone 16 pro to replace it. Last iPhone I had was an iPhone 3. I have been really enjoying it so far. The iPhone now has most of the features I liked in android e.g. Widgets,USB C, extra security to open apps. Really great there is 2 healthy ecosystems as Google and Apple both encourage each over to innovate and improve their products.

120hz on a phone doens't matter, you are going to love it and notice it heavyly in the beginning, the first week or two, after that.. you don't notice it and the same when you go back to 60 hz. I kinda want the pro because of it, but I also know exactly what I just said... I'll love the smoothness for a week or two and after that.. it really don't matter a single freakin bit. I also switched to Android for a bit, but I couldn't deal with the missing things.. such as the connection between your phone, airpods, Apple TV etc. etc. So I went back to iPhone. Edit: To the kids replying below, please learn to read a text and understand what is written, rather than interpreting your own fictionating reading from very simple comments. Would I like a cheaper iphone, do I think the iphones and the basemodel price is expensive and too close to the pro models etc. etc., would I like 120 hz on the standard model... YES! But that was not what this was about. The point is already made, but let me make it crystal clear... if 120hz is the ONLY reason you'd get a pro, then don't... it's not worth it and won't make a difference in the end. Save money, get the base model. GL.

Plus, the fact that the entire photo montage is basically the story of you and your loved ones, inspires me to get an iPhone in hopes that I can carve my own story when I do have someone to be with in my own love life. Loved the video (it dropped in my suggested as I literally watched another iPhone 16 review) Currently I still have my 12 and it’s starting to struggle (apparently apps are updated for better chips these days) and I’ve come to a point I want a larger screen so I’m contemplating 16 Plus as I’m getting the pov of how good regilular lineup actually performs. Sure I won’t need/wont be able to use most of the features where I live, yet I actually need that shutter button for camera as my 12’s swipe is struggling as well as the camera button on the lockscreen. And I really need a very fast camera launch these days (especially in the language class where some teachers go so fast I can’t write everything down so taking a picture for later use is the go) and so far I keep hearing good reviews of base models so I’m dearly hoping I will be able to upgrade soon-ish. My friend got 15 plus and loves it but I need the camera way more as I am a hobby photographer but carrying my other cameras isn’t always convenient (especially when I just commute between work & home) so having this much upgraded camera sounds really appealing as well as that chip and other features. I actually don’t care for that infamous 60hz-whatever screen thingy as I’m pretty sure it can be adjusted in accessibility settings. Also pretty certainly the AI stuff will work that properly outside US/UK/English speaking areas so don’t care for that. My main reasons would be the camera and that editing feature I actually need on nearly daily basis and the screen size and battery life with all those charging features and stuff. Also as I sat at work I realized usb-c would benefit way more there than lightning (which I still love more than usb-c) But that’s my humble opinion I’m sharing

Thank you! Glad you liked the video! In which case - I would say the 'only' reason to consider a Pro is the 5x tele camera. It just comes down to how often you might use it? Or potentially pick up last years 15 Pro from a third party, for a better price perhaps?

This week I ordered an iPhone 16 Pro Max, coming from a Pixel 7 Pro. I would have gotten a regular 16 Plus.. were it not for that 60Hz Display.. The fact that Apple stil puts a 60Hz Display in a phone that starts at 1100 euros ist just ridiculous. So why not grab a Pixel? For the same reason as you mentioned. Everything thats around the phone. Android Wear still does not come close to the Apple Watch. There are no trackers as good and reliable as Airtags. The integration with my AirpodsPro is much better. It also works seemlessly with my iPad. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed my 7 Pro the last 2 years. Its been a solid companion. And if you dont care about third-party apps on smartwatches or GPS-trackers, do get a Pixel. Get an S24 Ultra. Absolutely solid devices. But for me, I'm just eagerly waiting for the postman to deliver my new shiny brick that I will probably carry with me for at least 3-4 years.

that camera control button is the most useless feature. Just by imagination nothing can be more comfortable than quich light display press to capture a photo. Even if people forcing them to use it, everyones hand size is different. So from my my pov it benefits only those with giant hand or long fingers but still worse than quick display press. Many reviewers mention than camera is a downgrade. Also screen fast scrolling locks at 80hz instead of full 120hz. Overall a downgrade. Only good thing is the deep dark color of black model

I think everyone kinda missed the point of the camera thingy. I think it’s for when ur taking landscape photos (horizontal) so it’s not so difficult to zoom and do all the new features this phone brings to the table while ur phone is sideways. I think the intention was so it felt more comfortable and like maybe an actual camera when holding this way

Using camera control for taking photos (even in landscape mode) just feels super awkward IMO. I just have mine set to record a video as soon as I press it so I don’t miss a moment at music festivals. Other than that the button is useless. It’s faster to use the screen.

Now the 16 Pro is out with iOS 18 I think lots of Android users will jump to iPhone. Now it is way more customisable and has the best screen, most power, incredible battery life, best video recording, and one of, if not THE best camera systems. Plus better and higher quality apps on the App Store. Better quality and more feature packed microphones. Class leading sound isolation when on calls or recording audio. I could go on and on... I love when an Android user narrow-mindedly claims 'iPhone is shit' or something like that. I love cornering them by asking exactly what's shit about it and they end up embarrassed. Combine the iPhone with other Apple products in the home and the interoperability is incredible and often awe-inspiring.

Personally I'm not even bothered with the 60 Hz, but I could never have the guts to spend nearly 1000€ on a phone that can't go further than 10X Zoom, which for me is a big no, speacilly when I can get a S24 with a telephoto lens and 30X max zoom for like 600 nowadays, too bad I live in Europe and here it's the Exynos version, not as good as Snapdragon... At least now the 16 has macro, which the 15 didn't so, yeah, baby steps I guess hahaha! I plan to get one some day, since my closest friends also have 14 pro max's and so on, still, not a reason to get one, simply cause I really wanna try one (Pro model), but Android will always be in one of my pockets, since sideloading is just too damn handy, plus, Android is fun, you know what I mean. On the other hand, I've been a proud owner of an iPad Pro 2018 model 11 inch since early 2020 so yeah, although never fell in love with iPadOS, I did actually fell in love with iPad's hardware, really is top notch!

I don’t understand why you say “the iPhone 16 is still good enough for the vast majority of users” and then right after, cynically, “if you’re ok with a 60hz display in 2024” as if that’s not one of the main things the vast majority literally doesn’t care for. Right now I’m using an iPhone 15 and an S22+ and I switch between them without even thinking about the hz difference (and I’m a long time 144hz fps pc gamer LOL). We need to get over this idea that it’s a NeCeSsArY feature or something. Like seriously talk about the most pathetic 1st world problem ever! It’s case and point a feature that most people don’t care about and it shows in sales and Apple understand that.
@PeteMathesonАй бұрын
Fair point - but I see so many people constantly complain about the whole 60hz thing - it's a big issue for some people. Particularly on a near $1k phone, when $200 Android phones manage 120hz. But it's for sure a first world problem! 😜

@@PeteMathesonI think we see people complain more because we're on the tech side of KZbin, Reddit etc where the average user on these parts tend to be more tech savvy or in the know than the average Joe. Its a major thing for me, to the point that I immediately know when my phone switches to battery saver mode without looking at the % but the average Joe doesn't care about or really notice the hz difference.

How does it feel using a 60Hz display in 2024?

I went to a underoath show with the 16 plus and I wish I had my pro then (I returned the plus cause of 60hz) the videos were dark and you couldn’t see anything.

Never buy a product on the *promise* of future functionality. Apple Intelligence isn't ready for primetime, and it won't be until well into next year. So why buy the iPhone 16??? You might as well wait for the iPhone 17. Personally, I have little use for Apple Intelligence. I won't miss it.

I love your video! I’m actually the opposite from you . I left my ultra I got so bored of it and will be getting my first pro max phone. The iPhone 16 . I’m so excited . I’m not one who is obsessed with AI but I’m glad to see Apple will be implementing their version to its devices and I’m excited to see how it works! You’re right it seems like Apple intelligence will bring actual useful features to the table and not just photo editing stuff or sketch AI stuff . I will admit the translating services are great on Android but all this AI features Samsung has are actually created and powered by Google . I like the fact Apple has its own software and soon its own version of AI . Thank you for your video such an interesting pov

If you’re someone who claims the air pod pros won’t stay in your ears, you’re literally just doing it wrong. You gotta use the correct size tip but as important, you need to twist the AirPod back and forth as you’re putting it in to get the seal right! Once the seal is set, your noise cancellation will kick on and bit won’t fall out no matter what! All of our ear canal’s are shaped the same and you can get foam tips so it doesn’t even matter what your ear is shaped like
