I can't tell you how happy I am to see you all together reviewing tech - all that was missing was the Otis. The Gadget Show was a big part of my growing up. I'd look forward to sitting in front of the tv with the family and watching the latest episode after school. I listened to this latest podcast on the way home from work the other day and it was such a blast of nostalgia listening to the three of you review some quality gaj. Virtually everyone uses technology, yet when the question of technology shows on TV is brought up, it is thought to be a "niche interest". Why are there not more technology shows on TV, across many countries, not just the UK?

Re upgrading to an iphone 16 from a 15 pro; The A17 Bionic chipset is manufactured using TSMC's N3B process. Apple has switched the A17 (now called A18) over to the simpler, cheaper N3E process for what is probably cost-cutting reasons. N3B is TSMC's original ‌3nm‌ node created in partnership with Apple. N3E, on the other hand, is the simpler, more accessible node that most other TSMC use. N3E has fewer EUV layers and lower transistor density than N3B, resulting in efficiency tradeoffs, but the process can provide better performance. There is no AI related technological reason to switch from a phone running the A17 bionic pro (the 15 pro and 15 pro max), to a phone running the A18 bionic.

Honestly i can't justify £700 for the PS5 Pro and then you have to add on the price of the disk drive and the stand, your looking at close to £800 and im sorry but that's to much. I Honestly feel that xbox should come out with there own steam deck that runs gamepass, sell it for say £250/£300 and i think that would do incredibly well! But this is all theory. But yeah i don't understand why Sony thought this would end in a positive light for them 🤔

I still have that same model of PS3 to this day, full backwards compatibility. I do think Sony have misfired with the PS5 Pro though, very little improvements, incredibly high asking price and no optical drive included. Not sure this one is going to do very well.

Great podcast! I think it's very unlike Apple to outsource anything... but this time, most of their Ai features are reliant on ChatGPT. It's kind of like they are admitting they are behind with Siri. Much like how Samungs have sidelined Bixby in some ways for Gemini.

Think one of other issues is UK price versus US price US with sales tax of 1-7% depend on state you in with stand and drive you won't be looking at more than $850, but UK price with same drive + stand when converted back to dollars puts it around $1050. Nearly 20% more, other countries have it worse than this like Canada. 2nd point with streams they put out, you can't see difference in video due to low resolution.

Hello, I just received a notice of demonetization regarding a video I made discussing the PS5 pro featuring sony trailers in which it claims the source and owner is from this video? Again I used Sony trailers as background footage with no audio while I talked over them with my face cam present as I've done before with no issues yet the notice claims the Sony trailers as footage you own. Can someone reach out to me regarding this please. Thank you

I don’t believe £700 for the PS5 pro is worth it mainly because most games will run just as well on the PS5. Big price for a smaller subset of enhanced games and I suspect you’d need to look very hard to notice it on many. But if you’re a hard core gamer that wants the best there is then this is for you!

I commented somewhere else, back around the early 2000s I used to rush home from work to watch a thumbnail QuickTime stream on dial-up of live Apple events. Fighting to keep the connection working. Now it streams flawlessly (via Google’s KZbin) in 4K on a 50” TV and I fell asleep in front the screen. The pre-recorded events are so boring. Tim Cook isn’t really a showman, and even though the pre-recorded live events started because of Covid. I get the feeling Tim would prefer to keep it that way for the remainder of his term at the top. “Here’s A.Random to tell us more…”

Correction: You have to "upgrade" the PS5 Pro with a physical drive for an extra £100 before you begin! Rip off!

Correction: You don't have to buy the drive if you don't use it, and official figures show 80% of people hardly ever use the PS5 physical drive. I'd rather have it as an option than forced to buy it and make the price even higher. Nothing is a rip-off unless you are forced to buy it/pay for it. If you think it's too expensive, don't buy! 🙂

I own the digital games I bought which is tonnes - they are tied to your account - not the HDD - I have my games on several different consoles (PS4 Pro and 2 PS5s) and even disc games do some kind of license 'check' now when loaded (PS5 at least) - not sure what will happen if and when (unlikely) Sony shut off all servers related. As 'owners' of the games bought legally, the licences would have to be nullified or something so the games could still be played as the purchaser is still the owner. I think it is online only games that 100% rely on servers that would be affected in the way you said. It is interesting though! 🙂
