yeah the base model are far better value for now especially with the almost 80% feature parity with the Pro models. this reminds me so much of the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro when Apple made the two of them so similar that the price difference wasn't worth it to get the Pro model

I must say that many reviews gave two thumbs up to the 16 Pro battery life for sure, and even better for Pro Max. Maybe a battery sucking app culprit?Also, I must say unless you’re doing 15x or 25x zoom, I can’t see how you’re getting those few really blurry, noisy shots. Maybe it was the movement. I have not seen that in any 15 Pro or 16 Pro reviews. The max zoom is still better on the competition, as impressive as the tetraprism lens is. Finally, the audio mix results in many other reviews have been quite impressive.

I thought the Pixel shots here were washed out, the iPhone shots looked better, and yeah movement hurts but Apple has not been super sharp in recent iPhones due to processing to get cleaner less jaggie shots, I like the sharpness so I shoot raw. And I always have bad battery life in the first few days on a new iPhone, it gets better. Never test battery in the first few days because of all the background setup. And just saying it ran low faster is not a great test, surprisingly we over use a new phone and don't realize it, so thinking it's losing battery faster than our older phone is common. So yeah the battery is one of the best things on the 16 Pro, especially the Max.

Apple should have moved the camera button farther down thr side of the phone so it feels more natural to use. This review shows it's better to use the shutter on the screen.

Had a quick go on the camera button in a shop. Wasn’t really impressed. It’s way slower and harder to control the zoom vs touching the screen It did seem to take photos faster though. When you take a pic on an iPhone, the screen goes black for a split second. This barely happens at all now. I reckon that’s a software thing and there’s no reason older iPhones can do it, but that’s Apple for you.

Did reviewers not realize that opening the camera on iPhone was as easy as a quick swipe right from the Lock Screen? And has been like that for years! Before they even added that redundant camera button on the bottom right of the Lock Screen? And it’s so incredibly fast to open by swiping that I never once ever pressed that camera button. I feel like I’m watching reviews where they don’t even know some basics of iPhone photography. Like Dave2D didn’t even know about the zooming in smoothly by holding your thumb on the 1x button and then sliding up or down.

You know, I always had better images using the screen instead of the volume button so you got me concerned about the camera button. I was hoping it wasn't a button but just haptic, if you have to push it like the volume... yeah it could introduce shake. dang, I really was looking forward to the button...hopefully I can master it or maybe back to the screen, or using a pinch gesture with the Apple Watch? that would be amazing!

iPhone user since day one and have upgraded every year, currently rockin the 15 Pro, the 16 series has definitely made me decide to switch to Samsung and get the soon to be released Galaxy S25. I’m done with Apple’s Dynamic Eyesore, the incremental improvements every year, and always being years behind Samsung with offering cool new features. And the camera BUTTON is a stupid gimmick, I want less buttons, not more buttons. The Galaxy S Series phones only have two buttons, a volume rocker and a on/off button.

Certainly not trying to change your mind on anything but as someone who uses both Samsung and Apple, I can tell you that Samsung experiences many of the same incremental improvements as well. Hardware wise the S21-S24 are very very similar and many of their budget models adopt the same design as those phones. And moving from the S23 to the S24 there were very little changes aside from adopting AI and battery life and camera quality. The phones are great don’t get me wrong, and I can understand why someone would want to try them out especially since they offer more features than what Apple does. But Apple isn’t the only experiencing some issues.

Yeah, I actually want no buttons at all, like I think Steve Jobs intended to eventually achieve. No buttons, and someday dynamic speakers that use the glass to amplify. so no holes, no buttons! I think he would have not liked all these extra buttons, he kept trying to eliminate all of them, and the ports, it drove users crazy when he removed a memory card or usb port. Maybe he was right.

As a photographer, noticed a few issues with the testing here. For example in the moon photos, you can certainly tell that on the iPhone, they didn’t expose for the moon while on the Pixel they did. Another thing, DSLR, really? Shutter Button is the correct term. DSLRs have been dead for quite some time now being replaced by mirrorless technology. I am a S24 ultra user, but I am getting an iPhone 16 Pro to test out on my (tiny) channel and compare it to the S24 Ultra’s cameras. We shall really see from a photographer’s point of view the real deal once I get my hands on it. Love Cherlynn! No hate whatsoever! Just some things I noticed.

@@CherlynnLow I assure you I am much older. lol. Just a tech nerd! Currently using Nikon Zf, Leica Q3, and LUMIX S5ii. Oh and the Nikon FE film camera which I adore. As a small KZbinr myself, I can’t stand the trolls! Maybe post them on the channel for discussion? I found in Amsterdam a few weeks ago with the S24, I had to lower the exposure almost every time with night shots to avoid the highlights being overexposed. More testing certainly needed!

I don't know, the Pixel images here looked more washed out, and night shots were terrible. They both over process the images, but in these shots I picked iPhone on each, the Pixel did better on that flash shot for sure, but all the others the other pixel shots seemed washed out, some of them missed on color too. On any of these new phones I would shoot raw and do my own processing, I think the iPhone 8 Plus still has incredible image quality, after that Apple over processes everything, I think they all over process. Oh and you would think with AI, they could eliminate the shake causing poor images, at least a little, maybe next year.

This button is the most pointless and useless thing they could ever DO! I never felt like i need one and was taking pictures and videos just as fine without it. They could simply put the option to double press lock button to activate it like Samsung can and no need for another dumb button. This thing will be so much better if it was just a physical fingerprint reader just for those that like it and asked for it for years already, but no ... u need ANOTHER way to do the same pictures and videos that u do without it.
