iPhone 16 Pro Week One: Is Camera Control worth the upgrade?

I have decided to return my iPhone 16 Pro and stick with my Pixel 9 Pro. The only reason why I thought I wanted an iPhone back was to use iMessage and FaceTime but I quickly realize that a messaging app like iMessage and a video call app are not worth it. Within half a day I saw how much better I am with the true smart phone the Pixel. Plus the Pixel takes the best still pics, and with video boost it’s fun recording at night, it takes it to the next level.

Answer to the question on the title; no. But, it is with the upgrade if you want better battery, better cooling technology, and exclusive to the smaller Pros is a better screen size and more than anything the 5x lens added to it this year. Camera Control is a very unnecessary gimmick.

@3:50 you can set the action button to "all in one" shortcuts that have multiple embedded. I use one that has the silent mode toggle, focus modes, screenshot, rotation lock, etc.

You know i agree with you on tactility. Why don't smartphone makers put in a button that isnt mapped to anything by default and you can map it to whatever you want.

7:44 *shutter button and filters… No evolution here, no new way to experience a camera. No credit for Apple, they didn’t invent anything here, didn’t make anything better. The shutter button is the worst placed shutter button in the entire history of mobile photography. Hard to reach, hard to press, cumbersome to use… Apple should have just put a regular shutter button and placed it correctly in the corner. The filters are nice. A poor Fujifilm Film Simulations and recipes imitation, but nice.
