Ben Faust Spark can still hit 40 mbps with one bar. sprint network is odd right now. they dont have VOLTE yet, so talk and 3G gets more bars while LTE has less bars jump up when you make a phone call. VOLTE will change that for LTE

I'm from the future at the end of 2016 and Sprint has gotten even worse. I get 3G in my neighborhood and slow LTE speeds in "LTE Best" areas.

I've been able to test all 3 networks as well and I can confirm your results, Sprint is definately the slower of the 3, though that will vary if you're using their 4G network or not. Also your mileage will vary between AT&T vs Verizon depending where you are. My house is really fast with AT&T much faster than Verizon service, but a mile or so away the AT&T slows down greatly, the Verizon was faster and tends to be a bit more consistent.

Just got the Sprint iPhone 4S. I've been getting the AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint 4S the past 2-3 months and I see no difference at all. Everyone is saying Sprint service sucks and the internet speed is slow, but that isn't the case for me. AT&T also the same. Both AT&T, Sprint and Verizon have their ups and downs in some places. Currently i'm starting to like Sprint because of the Unlimited internet :P

If the phone is messing up, that is not the fault of the cell carrier. That is the fault of the phone and it's manufacturer (Apple). My mom has her 4S, and has been happily using it on Sprint. I've also been pretty happy on Sprint with my LG Optimus S (Android). Been able to stream music, unlimited, over the 3G network with no buffering issues or interruptions (unless it's from a phone call).

Yeah. A few of my friends have AT&T and they say it's better than Verizon. I have a friend of mine who has Verizon. I definitely agree Verizon has more coverage, and the service is very very good. But, there are some places that AT&T may cover that Verizon may not, but overall Verizon is better at coverage. I've heard many people say how bad AT&T is, but I never hear anyone say anything bad about Verizon it seems. I think for the majority of people, Verizon is best :)

I have Verizon and it's amazing. I have heard people say that it really depends on where you are for service, etc. My friend uses AT&T and we went on a trip over the summer--at times she had better service, at others I had better service.

I got my iPhone with Verizon and it is really fast. I love it. My aunt got hers in Sprint because she would get unlimited data, but they use that to lure people into getting it there because its actually really slow with Sprint. I was using her iPhone to search for something and it took forever to load pages. My cousin has AT&T and she says its really slow. So I have to say Verizon is best.

Kudos to all three cellular phone carriers for what they do. Verizon delivers a faster speed when both uploading and downloading application(s), streaming videos, and etc. AT&T allows you to talk, text, and search the web at the same time. Lastly, Sprint offers unlimited data and mobile to mobile talking for their customers. Each of the three carriers are good only for a few reasons to provide good customer service.

I've been with sprint since 2002 and its time to change! Going with AT&T and gonna pre-order the I-phone 5. It suck because I signed a new contract last summer with sprint,but no matter I've leaving any way. The last straw was them shitting me outta $120 and a $50 rebate.

Bars definitely matter. Have you ever wondered why when you have full bars the web pages/videos load up faster than when you have 1 or 2 bars? Common sense... It TOTALLY does effect the speed of data.

Verizon is the most expensive, but as a long-time customer with experience in all 3 services, they have the best coverage, reliability, and speed of ANY service provider. Now that the Galaxy Nexus is on 4.1, I've switched to that and it's significantly better than the iPhone.

I had all of them. Verizon = Fast but EXPENSIVE AT&T = Good but with a reasonable price Sprint = SLOW with a overly advertised price and connection I miss AT&T and cant wait to switch back in August of 2013

I have the iPhone 4 on AT&T and my older sister has the iPhone 4 on sprint and I always make fun of her for having spring because her's takes forever to load a page whereas mine can load mostly any page within seconds :)

depends on where you are but when it comes down to it GSM phones are actually faster than CDMA phones in data speed...CDMA phones use EVDO for 3G which can only top 3.1Mbps while GSM phones use HSPA for 3G which can hit 14.4Mbps and be upgraded to HSPA+ ...sprint is also so oversold with sharing their towers with boost/virgin that you can stand next to a sprint tower and probably get the same speeds as in this video

Can't complain with Sprint's iPhone 4S. For my plan with sprint it costs 30-40 dollars cheaper than verizon or at&t. And on top of that I get unlimited Data with Sprint. If you want to save money go Sprint. If you want to go somewhat broke go to at&t, and if you want to go completely broke go Verizon.

Sprint is only unlimited if you're on their network. If you use too much data while roaming they'll kick you off. Over the years I've used AT&T, Verizon, & Sprint. By far, Verizon has the best network.

On Sprint, just get an Airave. You will get top Evdo speeds. Same goes for at&t MicroCell, and Verizon Network Extender. It's like having your own cell phone tower. Trust me it's worth it.

That's impossible. The iPhone 4S cannot support LTE. HSPA+ and LTE are both different types of 4G. It says 4G in the status bar because it's HSPA+. No iPhone before the iPhone 5 supports LTE whatsoever. Look at the tech specs of the 4S on Apple's site, you'll see there's not mention of LTE. Don't let anyone else confuse you, it's just not true.

I have Sprint and I have no issues with it. I actually have friends on AT&T and their service is not as good (They have to get out of their office for in order to get good reception). There is a Verizon Tower really close by so definitely works faster, but it is about $30 bucks more per month. I will stick to Sprint. Also, their customer service has been very good.

How fast the phone's speed will be depends on where you are. I'm in Philly and Sprint works pretty fast for 3g on the iPhone.

Most of the time at&t and sprint had 3 bars while Verizon had 4, and I don't think a bar is going to make that much of a difference, but it also proves that Verizon has the best coverage

I'd like to tell the people bashing on sprint that come back in six months and see who will win. Sprint is way faster than Verizon in my area now after they did network vision. I am satisfied with sprint the only thing they have to do now is get more towers in rural areas. In central illinois.

Sprint is A LOT faster now. This was 1 year ago. Almost 2 years. They're still slower than Verizon and AT&T but they're still faster.

I was on Sprint first and recently switched to Verizon. The difference is night and day. Sprint is absolutely horrible in comparison. Verizon's 3G speeds and overall coverage is so much better.

idk, these test are relative to where you live. when i lived in florida sprint was good. but when i moved to georgia, sprint was crap, dropped calls all the time.

I've had sprint for YEARS so I believe I have the ethos to say that SPRINT IS THE WORST. If you call 10 people, about 7 calls will be dropped. I have a new Samsung Galaxy S4 too, and I get lower signal levels than my friends.

My provider is Sprint, 3G. I usually get about 1.5 mbps on their network. I also have an iPad on ATT and it usually goes about 3 - 4 mbps.

No iPhone 4S supports LTE. The AT&T version will show 4G, but it doesn't refer to their LTE network.

There is a possibility that this Trial is Inacurate. Each Phone transmits and recieves on very close Frequiencies. On transmit of one phone can leak RF energy on the frequiency of the other phone, therefore causing each phone to slow eachother down by Attenuating the other signal. It also depends on where you are and if there is a tower in your area... This is all just a Guess...

AT&T and Verizon are both the best right now. They are just better than each other with different things such as the downloading for AT&T and the browsing for Verizon. But I do favor AT&T because my service was always thē best towards me

the only problem i have with this test is with the at&t the call history idk if it couldve slowed it down at all and also that extra app because the more apps you get it slows down because on mine im close to having a full memory and it just creeps

I just have a question about wifi and the data thing. So I'm usually at a place where I have free wifi, so if Im in a wifi zone do the phone automaticly pick that up and use the wifi or will it always use the data plan? I just want to know so I can chose with plan I wanna get its come in 5gb,3gb and 800mb? i think thanks in advance

One other thing that is i don't AT&T service in my area. Now verizon i get service very good. Sprint has set up their own mini tower in side my house free of charge. Sprint treats their customers with respect. A few months ago i did have issues but its fixed. I typicaly get a adverage 1.5mbs download speed, and .77mbs upload when i have 3 bars

People make such uneducated comments...data is a digital connection...it is either on or off.....less bars has no bearing on speed....it is simply an indication of signal strength which can get technical but again....has no bearing on speed or what the pipe can take.

Sprint has Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile, Ready Mobile, some Tracfone and Straight Talk users just to name a few using their towers. And Sprint also.

Sprint offers the only true unlimited plan....IF you're on THEIR network. If you're roaming, and using another carriers network too much, they can terminate your service.

iphone 5c is LTE this video is from way back in 2011 thats a year before sprint started rolling out LTE. sprint 3G network was painfully slow back then. network vision has made it faster. verzion and sprint both have bad 3G networks cause they use EVDO While at&t uses hspa for 3G. LTE is alot better for sprint and verzion.

i don't know about everyone else.. But for cheaper and unlimited plans, sprint can be late a couple seconds idgaf. but if you are crazy about getting quick ass internet then switch to a company that's pretty damn expensive.

It doesn't support LTE at all. It supports what's called HSPA+. It's technically a type of 4G but it's not LTE. And it's only available on AT&T and only in certain areas. The iPhone 5, however, supports LTE on all three carriers (where available).

AT&T sucks dude, they lose service all the time from what I've seen with my friends' phones and obviously this test proves which is better. The only edge that AT&T had was download speed, as you could see. But I've still seen apps downloaded faster on Verizon than that of AT&T. Verizon will always have my heart.

But so many people are on Verizon their infrastructure is getting out of date. Instead of replacing all of the components in the 3g towers they are simply putting converters on them. so inevitably Verizon's network is going to crash and burn unless they start upgrading.

You should have charged the batteries to the fullest, and were more outside so you have full bar coverage. You're losing bars all over the place with all 3 phones, I feel that will skew the results. I know that real time results are better than best case scenario, but not everyone is going to be in a building where where towers skip frequency etc.

I have sprint in my area and signal is good but it just depends on where you leave because when I'm at my dad house signal sucks
