That's just awesome. Nice job. Subscribed to your channel after seeing you use kaplin tape to hold a PCB down which is what I do. Just starting learning this level of repair and learning a lot watching you, Jessa, a few others and working on some of the skeleton boards I have somehow accumulated after 6 months in the phone business. I will likely be a customer soon!

@ststele8 жыл бұрын
+Lee Satriani (satchY) I've actually never tried it or looked at schematics in a way to consider that. I did try once on a water damage data recovery job and the phone didn't fully power on. That wasn't a good test though because it was likely another issue causing the power up problem. I may test that this week on a donor board and see what happens.

Very impressive videos. I know I need software like ZXW or Z3X with .brd files and PDF. I am looking for a tutorial for a start to finish board diagnostic. I know there are countless possibilities of problems but at least somewhere to start. Do you know if those programs have info like that? Thanks
@ststele8 жыл бұрын
I've never seen anything with that info except for... I have seen some schematics that have diagnostic information in them. Many Samsung schematics will have some "check this, if it's not this check that then this..." flow charts that have helped me solve some Galaxy problems.

can you repair my iphone x touch screen isuue ? i tried with different LCD screen but sitll not working .
@artman1028 жыл бұрын
It looks like the mysterious secondary issue is the pads becoming detached from the board, perhaps being lifted off the board by the ic solder ball. But the main issue is no underfill. Well Apple you saved 2 cents in underfill and caused a billion dollar secondary repair industry.

What board files are you using for the iPhones there? I'm working a lot of Openflex Boardview ( openboardview.org ) but I've not ever encountered an iPhone boardview file to test with it but it's definitely something I'd like to get working on it.
@ststele8 жыл бұрын
I'm using ZXW from www.zxwtools.com. I'm not sure where they get all of their information but it's pretty closed off. I have to plug in their USB license dongle to use it, then the board views are loaded from their servers as needed.
@pldaniels8 жыл бұрын
That explains things, as I know a lot of people have been hunting around for BRD type files for the iPhones (like the Macbooks/laptops), even if it meant writing another board format decoder in to it. Thanks for the reply.

I recently took my iphone 6 to a repair shop near me and my phone was brought back with cracks in the screen that weren't there before i'm not sure what to do. attempted to register for an account on your website, but the password i set didn't work when i tried logging in. i attempted to reset my password but that didn't work either. It only took me back to the login screen and asked for me to login again. Please help!
@ststele7 жыл бұрын
I've removed all traces of your registration from our system so if you try to register again it should work. It sounds like you just need a screen replacement though. You would be much better off to have that repaired locally rather than send it off to anyone.
@damanilyseight96827 жыл бұрын
Thanks for helping with the account problem, i actually replaced the screen myself. I've heard of a lot of people having this IC chip problem so I assumed that I was experiencing the same difficulty. i was going to attempt to fix this myself but it seemed a little too hard for me to do without assistance.

+STS Telecom So you use the flux + heat to remove the chip. You clean excess solder, then you use flux to refuse the new chip to the board? I thought you some how need to get solder back on the chip. Hope you can clarify.
@ststele8 жыл бұрын
I order these ICs with solder balls pre-attached to the bottom. The flux is just to be sure the solder flows easy when it melts in hopes of good joints on all of those pads under the chips.
