This was so interesting, I find this kind of work fascinating. Well done with the trick of cooling the pcb down to see where the energy is being used. My iPhone 5s has the exact same problem and it was little fan thing that you could plug into the lightning port that damaged the phone. From that day on it got hot and ate the battery.

Hi. I have ipad air 1, not charging, not turn on. After replacing u2 chip, it still not turn on. And the u2 chip overheating. Do you thing that it's power management?
