iPhone Video Apps: Getting Audio over HDMI with Clean HDMI Video

I love using my Blackmagic ATEM Mini switcher to switch between my iPhone 6S Plus used as a video camera, my Panasonic GX85, my 12.9 iPad Pro, and any fourth device such as my iPhone XS. Initially, however, I wanted to attach an external mic to my iPhone 6S Plus and use the audio from that device as the main audio for my recording with OBS Studio or when doing a ZOOM meeting. But the audio didn't pass over the HDMI connection to the ATEM Mini from FilmicPro on my iPhone 6S Plus. Frustrating! I have since discovered two IOS devices that not only send "Clean HDMI" (i.e., no on-screen controls displayed), an absolute must requirement, but also audio! In this video I tell you what those apps are.

@@BillBooz Have you looked at the new Filmic Pro update, version 6.12.0? It has clean HDMI output. I have been testing it, looking good.

Kinda of crazy that there isn't an option to have both HDMI output AND 3,5mm input at the same time through a bi-directional adapter. The lightning port on the Apple HDMI-adapter can only be used for charging and not for adding a sound adapter like the Rode SC6-L, right? Also, do you know in the Cinemaker can fill the screen when sending through HDMI from the iOS device? I noticed that you have black bars around the source in this video and I think I read that Live:Air has an option to zoom the camera source and fill the entire 1920x1080 signal coming from the iPhone.

plongster - not sure about answer to your Cinamaker question. Ye, do get black bars with FilmicPro on my iPhone XS but don’t think that happens with the iPhone 6+.
