Thank you for sharing. I had broken my daughters IPXM flex when replacing the screen. I actually used a soldering iron to heat the back of old flex. It was tedious but with and extra hand, I was able to do this transfer of components to a new flex cable that I bought on eBay. Works great. Thanks again.

You will have to transplant the flood illuminator and the scanner as in the video. If you do that, it's gonna be functional.

Face ID sensor have nothing to do with earpiece assembly. Face ID module (known as “dot projector”) is a part of front camera module (situated in the phone frame itself) and not earpiece assembly. It does often malfunction due to camera module ribbon connector damage but yet again, nothing to do with “earpiece assembly”. This certainly won’t fix “Face ID” malfunction. Other issues, yes, such as proximity sensor issues, but not face ID issues.

Earpiece flat assembly if damaged face id wont work due to proximity and light sensor being on that flat and unfortunately face id needs those things to function properly, meaning even that is crypted to the board if not recognized properly face id wont be working, happened to me on iphone 11 pro, iphone xr, iphone 11 and many others, usually being the light or the proxi sensor malfunction due to minor fluid damage or the flat itself being fused so please spare me your jabber

The floodlight emitter turns yellow, I don't think the face id worked after you replaced the flex. the more you give heat, it will burn the sensors. always try to give less heat as possible.

If You have a broken sensor, You have to go to Apple store. Flex is universal, but sensors are paired with CPU. There are no different way :/

you mightve damaged the flex while replacing. Try resoldering both of the sensors. There might be a wrong contact and the phone gets stuck in a boot loop.

O kurde nie spodziewałem się że to od Polaka znajdę poradnik do wymiany faceID. Zazwyczaj problemem jest taśma czy jak znajomy mi powie "nie działa mi faceID, to problemem może być też coś czego nie naprawie?

Przyczyn może być wiele. Po zalaniu prswie zawsze siada face id, korozja przy czujnikach i wpinka do wymiany. Pęknięte ścieżki między płytami po upadku (płyta jest 2 piętrowa). Przyczyn jest wiele, ale zerwana taśma to najczęstszy przypadek 😁

Prolem moze stanowic tasma, nawet czesto tak sie dzieje, ale to nie chodzi o tasme z od samego modulu "sluchawki", ta akurat nie ma nic wspolnego z "face ID".Doslownie pol godziny temu skonczyem naprawe niedzialajacego face ID w Iphone 11. Problemem okazal sie caly modul przedniej kamery (na którym miesci sie rowniez sam "dot rojection module" - inaczej zwany face ID sensor) który calkowicie "wyskoczyl" z uchwytow mocujacym, po tym jak telefon praktycznie odbil sie od podogi - celowo rzucony w nerwach o glebe :D:D Wysypa sie ekran (czrne linie etc) no i z nerwow znajomy przywital tel z podlogá :D Dwie godziny roboty, wymieniony ekran, modul kamery i face ID wróci na miejsce i wszystk smiga jak trzeba :D

I have an iPhone 8 in my hands to which they cut the flat cable that connects the motherboard with the front camera and the various sensors. I have unsoldered the proximity sensor and the ALS ambient light sensor from the old flat. By buying a new flat and using the old sensors (only the ALS should suffice), is there the possibility that True Tone will be recognized again?

The front camera is not related with True Tone, to recover True Tone you need to copy the MtSN from the old screen to the new one, you will tool called iCopy.

Juan Carlos Escobar yes but you also need the original ambiant light sensor. So yeah if your screen is original doing it that way will keep your true tone. But its not worth all the work I think. Fuck true tone

You can remove it with hotair gun more fast, temperature 250 air 30, if you use with heat plate form then 200 temperature but it will take time because no air ,

Hi! Thanks for a great video. I am going to try this repair. I have bought a new flex cable but all I have is hot air work station. One other video shows the use of a hot air workstation at 260 degrees and 40 air flow. Do you think has problems? Is it really required replace the flood illuminator AND the chip next to it? Jerry Mobile I’ve seen non original flex’s have a small chip missing on the back of ear speaker? Also the joint near the ambient light sensor is slightly different also which is a shame as you could swap just the damaged ambient sensors part of the flex! I’m going to try and solder mask the ambient sensor today and retain the original flex. Any ideas What the small chip is I don’t have any schematics.
