Qalvus Dominus just letting you know regarding touching the sides of the screen accidently on s8 you can turn off the edges. I did that because I don't need to use that function anyway.

Phones are pretty good at detecting accidental touches though. I thought it might be an issue when I got my S7 Edge, but over a year later it hasn't ever been a problem. Being able to have a big screen without necessarily having a huge phone is really nice. The experience of using a phone that feels like its all screen is also just generally pretty cool.

Qalvus Dominus how do you hold you phone? Lol Like.....use your left hand and make an L shape with your index and thumb with other fingers to hold it behind when your holding your phone vertically and watching it laying down. You can also use your right hand and hold it using all your other fingers and using your pinky at the bottom (backwards L) to hold it. Your can also keep both of your hands to the side and use friction to slightly squeeze your phone so it won't fall😂 lol bezzels should be used however to sometimes pick your phone out of your pocket without turning it on:p then again, why would you pock your phone out of your pocket if you weren't gonna turn it on?😂

YDINO You get $100 headphones, fast charging, expandable storage and the S-pen with Note 8 though.. So the price is actually somewhat legit. iPhone X on the other hand gives you almost nothing, not even fast charging. Apple wants you to think that the phone alone is worth $1000 which definitely isn't the case. These considered.. Note 8 is a better choice.

I wanted to get the x so bad! Sadly I know they won't be available for walk in for another two months most likely. I ended up settling for the 8 and I'm perfectly fine with that. I think both are great options if someone is needing to upgrade considering there aren't that many differences in the two phones. Not quite. It's 5.8 (X) vs 5.5 (+) but at a very different aspect ration. The Plus has more screen real estate when viewing 16:9 content, whereas the X is basically closer to a taller regular iPhone. So portrait mode you do get more on screen but unless you zoom in the Plus models will typically be better in landscape.

Iphone 8 is so underrated because it got shadowed by the iphone x When they both got released, I bought the Iphone 8 without a second thought. It was better than the older versions, and familiar to me. I can say that it’s almost an Iphone X but with the older hardware and a he bottom, which is another reason why I preferred it. For me I wasn’t ready for the top notch screen or losing the home bottom.

I have an s8, but I do like apples ecosystem. my impression is: thats a beautiful phone in almost all aspects, but I would never spend that money. this phone trend with the note 8 being almost 1k, and the iPhone being 1k is ridiculous. I hope we don't get desensitized to thousand dollar flagships.

honest comment .. i liked the x a lot more before it came out ... its not the notch thats turning me off its the body of the phone and the software .. dont get me wrong i love the apple ecosystem thats why i use their products but this phone even though its slightly faster than the s8/note8 in some aspects/videos its clunky in a way... the face ID was over hyped now that we can see people testing it and its definitely not as good as apple wants us to think it is and its slower than the touch ID and that is now "the old technology" so its weird to hear and say that but again as i said the phone may feel premium but it doesnt look premium .. the bezels feel big for 2017 (i know theres 1.1% difference between the s8 and the x) it just doesnt justify the price ... i wasnt expecting much because i love tech so i read on it daily but i really wished for face ID together with that front and back camera lenses to come and save this generation of iphones and now i heard that the camera isnt as good as it was supposed to be .. i used that word because of the price ... now with all of this i want to say that if this were a 800 dollar phone i wouldn't be as judgmental as i am now but it is what it is ..

I personally think that Face ID will prove to be just as influential to security and the user experience as Touch ID was. Touch ID made security really usable by making it easy. Personally I never used a passcode to lock my phone before Touch ID (and I knew many people who did the same) because it was a pain and I look back and can’t believe I use to have to type in a pass code/password every time I opened a secure app. I can see Face ID shifting that paradigm from easy keys to no keys. It’s like changing from unlocking your door with a key to having someone open the door for you before you get there. Even if the key is super fast and easy ( even as easy as looking at an iris reader), it’s still a lock and key that requires you to do something to unlock it. It’s a barrier to get through. Face ID allows you to use apps and go in an out of secure apps without doing anything additional, just by virtue of the fact that it’s you using your phone. I can imagine in a few years when Face ID is faster and we have taken it so much for granted when we pop in and out of our secure content, that we will look back and think, “I can’t believe I had to unlock every secure app every time I used it” Thanks for the video and keeping it real. So many tech reviewers seem to just be “feeding the trolls” anymore.

The no Touch ID is what does it for me. The face ID is really unnecessary and I think if they had a spot on the back of the phone and you scan your pointing finger with would 1 look a lot more sleek and 2 be a lot quicker. I also just don't like how HUGE the camera is on either of the phones. iPhone 6s or 7 are classed as being the peek in mobile phone history and that every other feature on the new phones are just unneeded.

what i dont get is with face id why couldnt they do what samsung did which is give you both a fingerprint scanner and face id. apple could have put the fingerprint on the back like other phones do. that way we would get the best of both worlds.

There are times when you'd want to turn on your phone without having to look directly at it, like if you are in class and trying to turn on your phone under the desk, or at night when the room is too dark for the camera to see your face well. People may not realize it yet but I think face id is a huge inconvenience vs Touch ID, enough to make me want to turn it off and opt for a passcode instead.

Is it worth the skip? Yes it's worth. If the 8 had a NEW feature like the headphone jack I would have reconsidered. £149+ ain't stopping me from getting the X. If you've lived through a headphoneless jack period then a notch at the top would be a less compromise.

The camera module is turned 90 degrees because it has to be. The FaceID cameras and sensors in the notch would be in the way if you tried to have the rear facing standard cameras oriented the old way. It wasn’t to be different, it was due to space. Those components can’t overlap inside the phone unless you made it much thicker.
