I don’t see Apple killing the iPod touch anytime soon to be honest. Rather I think it’ll forever be in purgatory, only getting slight spec bumps to keep it supported on the newest iOS versions. Reason being that a lot of companies use iPod touches as embedded devices. Plus there is the people who want a separate device for music.

Im so fucking confused, Ive been reading stuff that makes it sound like you cant drag and drop song files from your computer anymore onto your ipod through itunes and you can only update your songs through the Apple Music app now or something to combat piracy. Literally all of my music is pirated that isnt a part of my $4,000 vinyl record collection. I can't put music I already own on an Ipod Touch 7? I can only add music I bought through Apple Music? Touch ID is such an intricate aspect of iPhone, it adds quite a bit to the BOM. The sapphire protection doubles as the lens that allows the camera to focus on your finger. The steel ring is what detects your finger and tells Touch ID to start scanning. Apple has to cut the premium aspects of iPhone to cut the cost. If iPod 7 had all the things people wanted, 1) it would be an iPhone, and 2) people would complain that it’s too expensive.

oh man, the package takes me back to when i was like 10 and i remember getting an ipod nano that i got to unbox and use for a little (i loved it so much) but i wanted the ipod touch because i didn't have a phone back then and thought it would be cool to get a touch.... returned the nano and got the 5th or 6th gen (not sure which one), had it for a week, realized that it took too much of my time away and my parents weren't happy about that so i ended up returning it and getting a gopro... still one of the best decisions ever because to this day i still have that gopro and we travel a lot so i've made SO MANY amazing videos with it that bring back memories and i still use that gopro while the touch probably would've been broken. idk why i wrote this super long message but i just wanted to share this lol reminds me of those good times...

"What are you going to need the storage for"? lol. One reason people still buy iPods is for music and people like myself have hundreds of gigs of music. Apple music and other streaming apps don't have a lot of the albums people want and/or have collected over the past few decades and many albums on Apple Music are missing songs. Personally, I load up my iPods with music I've purchased and I leave them connected to my car 24/7 so I don't have to use bluetooth or connect a cable to my phone every time I get in my car. Streaming and bluetooth are inferior to a hardwired iPod experience. Once my iPods are connected and stored out of sight in my center console I have instant access to hundreds of gigs of music and artwork with one click of my car's control knob. Bluetooth and streaming are nowhere near good enough for many of us.

I remember when I got my first iPod touch 5th generation. It was the year 2012 and I was in 2nd grade and I just had my first communion party and got 500 dollars from it. My parents took me to Best Buy and I told the employee if I can see the iPod touch prices. He recommended me the iPod touch 5th generation in blue with 32gb. I said yes and I bought it. We arrived home and I told my brother if he can set it up for me and he did and once he gave it back to me I was so happy!! I bought Minecraft PE and other cool games! Now in the year of 2019 I have a iPhone XR. I still have my iPod but it’s really laggy and the battery drains really fast! If your a kid or you know a kid that wants/needs a phone, you should just give them a iPod. Thank you for reading this!❤️

My iPod touch 5 is dying and I was thinking of getting a touch 7 to replace it. This is the best and most honest review I've seen so far. I'm in the "just wants it for music" category. I don't play games on mobile devices, nor do I watch movies on them. I probably wouldn't even use KZbin on an iPod.

I don't know about this, if I had $399 to spend, I would say that I would be much better off getting something like a 64 gb version of the iPhone 8. The two Apple devices that I do have is the iPhone 5s from 2013 and an iPod touch 2g from 2008. Other than that, my main phone is a Xiaomi mi a2 and I also have the Samsung Galaxy s8. I know that multiple devices do help with multitasking on the go. Funny how people thought that the iPod touch 7g would be a bezaless design like the iPhone X, but nope, they essentially used the same design since 2012.

In my opinion, it would be cheaper to just give someone an Android device such as the 2018 Samsung Galaxy J3. I have T-Mobile, so I have the 2018 J3 Star, but you could probably find a version of the J3 off contract on eBay or something. I am not sure, but a used Android device is a good alternative to an iPod Touch. That is all. I mean, if you take the Android alternative, you won't call, but the iPod Touch doesn't make phone calls anyways.

SilentTenten i do agree on that but I still like the iPod touch better since it has the apple a10 fusion processor and the 6s has A9 and the iPod touch will be upgradable for iOS 13 mean while the 6s is probs going to not be upgradable for iOS 13 and if it is it won’t be upgradable for iOS 14 and the iPod would be upgradable for both so the only thing I’d say the iPod isn’t better than the 6s at is the Touch ID and of course not being able to call or text unless you use messages or FaceTime with WiFi but that isn’t the meaning of iPod touches so it doesn’t count S other ppl might think differently and it’s ok though this is just my opinion
