This reminds me of my dad's humor. It makes me wonder if he was eccentric or part of some Slavic cultural tradition? A man is traveling with his new wife leading a mule. The mule stumbles. The man says "that's once." The mule stumbles again. The man says "that's twice." The mule stumbles a third time, and the man takes out his pistol and shoots the mule. The bride complains. The man says "that's once." Many women found my dad annoying.

I have always had different "types" of friends. When I was a planner, I hung out with planners a lot of the time. They had similar education and training to me, but it was wonderful because there were smart people in the room debating anyone's thinking on any topic. This made most of the plans that each of us wrote better than they would have been otherwise. It made them more bulletproof. When I think of my friends who could be classified as "right wing" or "blue collar", I think about how much fun we have because of our differences. It is useful to see things from the perspective of someone who has had a different experience. This is sometimes fine-grained and sometimes dramatic. It changes one's thinking.(I don't have a daddy issue,. I am bringing up my dad because he had a big personality. He was smart well educated (self), blue collar by birth and loved to surprise and pop the bubbles of the pompous (who come in many types).

There is an old joke that was famous in the area where I live (Bergamo, Northern Italy) similar to the Montenegro farmer's one. Three man, a milanese (from Milan), a bresciano (from Brescia) and a bergamasco (from Bergamo) insult the king, which ordinate to whip them 100 times each, but with a condition: the men can have onw wish first. The milanese ask for a pillow on his back, but the pillow get cut after 50 whips. The bresciano ask then for two pillows, but after 70 whips get cut as well. So the bergamasco said: "well, bind the bresciano on my back then"
