Women check each other when she is the one out of line/toxic, and some posts just get chalked up to a mismatch. If we take their word at face value, the way I see it is he went on even after 3 years of having been broken up to talk about his failed relationship of 8 years with a tone and expression that doesn't hint at any level of closure (and even considered getting back together as a possibility). Don’t get me wrong I can’t stand cheating and haven’t ever done it myself and the harm caused by not being able to trust someone you love is huge but at the same time it’s not like it’s murder or something either and it happens all the time so it’s just not practical to think that it won’t happen to you. I now think the mature thing to do is to realise that most people are incapable of turning down someone they are attracted to and depending on how attractive they are themselves it’s just a case of how many times they can say no before eventually giving in over the many years that they are in a relationship. It shouldn’t be that way but unfortunately it is for most people and the numbers don’t lie so it shouldn’t be a surprise to know that people are not perfect and can be deceitful even to those who they supposedly love. I think the increase in open relationships is probably a good thing because it helps people to stay honest in relationships and to have a more realistic viewpoint than the people in the past who bet their whole lives on something that was inevitable in most circumstances and split over something that was probably not worth splitting over in the long run. I doubt I could handle an open relationship myself and I’m not condoning cheating and it’s not hard for me to be honest in relationships but it is for a lot of people who unfortunately make up the majority so it’s just not smart not to be prepared for reality.

In the example that I gave, the guy made the effort to go with her to some place, even though he didn't want to go and the girl, she doesn't even acknowledge that he made an effort to make her happy, she only sees what he could have done better.
