Update- It seems like you fans are too immersed and gloated in the pleasure of these rare praises of your idol to realize what Ella said at the end of her performance. The key factor as to why the opposing team won over her team was the fact of how well their lead vocal sang in an effort of harmonizing her and her members which overall enhanced the entirety of the performance. To give a bit of context as to why Esther Yu's team underperformed despite having just as great or even greater of a vocal girl on their team, it was due to the instability of Esther Yu in the effort of attempting her first simultaneous task of dancing and singing as the center which she so eagerly seeks for, the vocal girl couldn't showcase her vocal as it would disrupt the flow and tone of the song. Honestly, I have never put Esther in my top 9 picks since this show started and I thought that she does not deserve the fame she's getting right now. But after watching this and the past episodes, I am now seeing Esther's talent. She has a very strong charisma on stage when she is serious, she has the basics in singing and dancing that can be worked on by proper training. She is also so real and kindhearted. P.S. Shaking singing tho, the final group really needs her

Lu zhang and mheddi from team B had great voice and combination, I almost cried but i cant cause theres someone in my room. TEAM B IS MORE EMOTIONAL. as you can see there are some trainees who cried and compliment them more, the coaches also compliment them more than TEAM A thats why they LOSEE

So Esther actually has a good voice. She just needs to be confident. With more training she can be a really good vocal considering she’s good at expressing the right emotions of the song. When she joined the show she was just a trainee for a month, with that little experience she may not be as good as the others but she can already keep up with group performances, and she has proven her improvements throughout the show. What more if she gains more training experience also stage performances, she’ll be great in no time.

​@@juliavillegas2060 the translations and the rudeness of the trainees were not captured in the iqiyi subs. when roada xu went into the room, she checked out the other team and say "we won" immediately and gave her cockiest strut... it is not as what iqy translated as "we'll win". team b yu zhang, nineone, meddhi fu are great vocals. it was so so disrepectful that she immediately dismissed them as good players as she stepped into the room. what's worse was that she continued by saying "we won we won" many times after. you can tell the other team's self esteem and morale was affected after. xiaotang and yu zhang were lost for words at roada's attitude, and nineone completely gave up (it was so sad, nineone is so talented and this show got to her....). meddhi was riled up by her comment and told her to 'watch her mouth' and got made fun of by shaking (i love shaking i really wished she didn't do that). p.s. i didn't expected this comment to be so long. this scene really got me and i understand fully why xiaotang cried after team b won this mini challenge. it was their redemption and i 100% feel they deserved it.

I already loved Shaking well before this, and this performances just elevated her status for me. The performance that surprised me most was Esther Yu's because --like Jonny J--I feel like this was the first time she really became a contender for the top 9. Besides her first group performance, she's done more upbeat songs, so I think these ballads give her the opportunity to focus more on the vocals and to show a side that's different from her bubbly ditzy (I mean this word in the best way possible) self.
