There was a lot of country duos back then. The Louvin Brothers were one of the best. I listen to them often in my home. 🪕🎻🎸 Good Stuff.

That may very well be true, but several close contenders are worth hearing. One is The Blue Sky Boys. Please give them a whirl. You'll love them.

Don't put your trust in man! Yes, they sing nice Gospel songs but go to Wikipedia and read how the older brother lived his life. Not much said about the younger one except he split from his brother and died of cancer at age 83! May have lived right with the Lord Jesus.

I'm sure Ira Louvin was far from perfect but.... but let he who is without sin cast the first stone..... think about it.

@@MK-ws4tw I found where he was not driving, he was in the backseat with his wife, The guy that hit their car was drunk and his truck had all kinds booze bottles and cans in it. He was killed instantly. By the time the Highway Patrol came by Ira was on his knees and had bled out probably praying. His wife was still alive in the backseat. The EMT got her to a hospital but they couldn't help her and she died on the way to the other hospital. Ira was going to sing Gospel music locally he told his mom before he left for Kansas it was the last thing he had on this contract.

@@pattherat7730 Hello are you certain you got the right information. Charlie separated from his brother Ira because Ira was a alcoholic. And he thought it was hypocritical for them to be singing about alcoholism when Ira was one. The song "The wreck or the crash on the highway" is a true story witnessed by the writer Dorsey Dixon . He actually had too go to court to get the right to his song. Personal I love and prefer their gospel songs I can listen to them for hours. But when it come to songs like these give me. Charlie Pride, Conway Twitty, Otis Redding, Joe TeX, Percy Sledge Etc. Most of them are dead😥 By stay safe🙏🙌 Get my list🤔😁🙏🙌

@@ehenry4282 Yes. Ira saw his mom before heading to Kansas with his 3rd wife. He told her he had to finish this contract in Kansas and he wasn't going to do anymore contracts or the Oprey. He said it was causing his mood swings that lead to his drinking. He was just going to sing Gospel songs when he got back from Kansas. The highway patrol found him kneeling and he had bled out and he was dead. He and his wife were in the backseat of thr car. The drunk driver was driving a large truck that had a lot of empty bottles and cans in it. He was drunk and crossed the double line and had a headon collision. I Believe Ira knew he was dying and was repenting for his sins. Read what I wrote earlier. Charlie was hoping to join his brother again. I have a playlist of their songs and 2 are Charlie's.

@@pattherat7730 As they say truth is stranger than frictions. He died the way he song. The wreck on The highway; and The price of the bottle; those two songs always brings me too tears. I also love the Chuck Wagon Gang. I am just now learning to appreciate some of these new singers and songs these days. I've been saved almost 50 years and I'm just old school. And some of these new songs just don't make sense to me. Take Care stay safe
