The M2 is my new favorite rookie car. Just feels awesome to drive and this feels like a much better intro to GT4 than the MX5

Car feels amazing, very snappy and you can feel the small wheelbase. Probably one of the best cars I drove on the sim. Definitely a great car to learn how to race. MX-5 is a great car, but this feels better if I were starting the game. I always wanted a BMW E36 M3 in iRacing, and this is pretty much it with more HP.

Drove one race in it, a few minutes ago, very very fun car!

The force feedback did feel very light. It was also tricky to rotate till i got use to it. This could be good for learning to rotate the car and to trail brake properly

Agreed with what you said about the mx5. I did not like it during rookies last year, and went to gt4 as soon as I could, then found the gr86 which is also great. Mx5 is fun now that I've come back to it. I look forward to this car.

I can’t wait to drive the new M2 I wish it was there when I was a rookie. Fixing the Netcode of done correctly will be the #1 improvement iRacing can do in any future updates.

The M2 has always been the answer to everything irl, no wonder it's glorious in game too 😁

I find this car much more difficult than the mx5 and gr86. The mx5 and gr86 don't have that much power so you can kind of stomp the throttle, but now you need to learn throttle application. This car also feels almost like you're driving on a slippery surface, but I like it

Just finished a Ledenon in this car. Qualified 12th, moved up to 7th in a few laps. Then coming out of the S bend heading to the last set of turns, I lost it on loose rocks on track. Pretty fun so far. I will likely run a full season in this car. The car does feel a little sloppy. Reminds me of when I first went to slicks in autox. WAY more grip than the suspension could really deal with. The Toyota GR86 kinda feels the same, but worse to me. Maybe we will get an advanced series later and we can stiffen the car up a bit more.

Its a nice car. I maybe come back to iRacing😂

How do you make a video about a new car without mentioning what car it is in either the video title, the video itself, or the video description? There are also no context clues from the dashboard or an external view of the car. None of the content YOU produced tells me what car this is. The only indicator is in the comments. C'mon.
@DerekThorpe29414 күн бұрын
Oh my gosh, you're totally right 😂 he didn't mention what car it was anywhere (though some of us know)

I actually searched m2 iracing, and this video popped up, so it's somewhere in the algorithm haha The car is also on the thumbnail, clear as day.

Driven the M2 on ACC, great fun but hard to get the best out of it. Really separates the good drivers from the average. So strange watching you drive with no car sounds. Great video.

Looking at the last race, there was 18 splits of 30 cars each. Insane

Interesting car to drive. And for me it feels like a more difficult car to drive compared to for example a GT4.

tbh the mx5 is only fun when you're a decent driver, haven't used it for some months I tried it yesterday and it took me good 15-30 minutes to remember how it drives and to stop spinning

I have driven a friend's stock M2 at a couple track days and it doesn't feel like this at all. This car feels like it's got worn out broken struts and wallows around like a sinking boat. To be fair, that's an issue iRacing has with many cars.

Same here, driven a M2 on Semis on track - felt completely different. My hopes lie in the new tire physics - get them to other cars than GTP as fast as possible!

Controversial opinion: The FFB is broken on this car RN, and it's not as fun as the MX5. But then I spent a lot of time mastering driving the MX5. This might be a bit like Nordschlife for me though, where I started out hating it and not seeing the appeal to loving it

the m2 is cool but i think it's not all that different than the gr86 in terms of what space it fills and how easy it is to drive. i'm not sure faster/nimbler is better ;) I feel like punishing rookies for overdriving cars in a race is a _good_ thing. i hate the mazda because of the sound of its engine :D but everything else about it is an excellent rookie experience because it makes you focus and respect the car/track interaction over the car/car interactions.
@GitGudRacing14 күн бұрын
i dont agree mate with punishing rookies. if it's too punishing people will just feel frustrated and quit.
@json.racing14 күн бұрын
@GitGudRacing fair point - but i feel like if you make cars _too_ easy, it gets treated like an arcade game. i've had lots of IRL experience (motorcycles instead of cars) and respect and sportsmanship are very important to me. just providing a counterpoint that racing is very much a fight with physics first and with other racers second. that said, it's no skin off my back if a bunch of rookies kill each other in M2s since i won't be there as a target ;)
@MomedicsChannel14 күн бұрын
If you really push this car it absolutely bites you. But the DSC will save the rookies and it will help a ton
@nomeru_014 күн бұрын
Yes they do oversteer relatively easy but they are also easy to save because you aren't going that fast. Which is what makes them a great car for beginners. I certainly don't see how mx5s are "too punishing" you need to understand the limitations of a car if you want to progress. If you're driving a boat that lets you get away with everything i don't see how that is useful
@richardhodge331013 күн бұрын
I think this car will also appeal to experienced drivers due to the fun factor. I've only run practice sessions so far but I expect pack racing which is usually enjoyable. This should be one of the most popular cars on the road side of the service.
