The fewer words a magic sword’s name has the more dangerous it is. You don’t want to be in the wrong end of Dark King Grutmore’s Edge of Annihilation don’t get me wrong. But you FOR SURE don’t want to be on the wrong end of something called IRAKLIS.

I don't think it's quantity of words, but quality. When you hear "Dark King Grutmore’s Edge of Annihilation", you know who it used to belong to, and what it's gonna do; Dark King Grutmore, and annihilate. But "Iraklis" tells you nothing. It sounds like the name of a person, but the lack of titles implies mystery. It could be a someone you "have" heard of, a complete stranger, or even an unknowable entity. Only more questions arise when you figure out it's just a weird-ass sword.

My pawn is game breaking . shield only build that does x4 times more damage then ANY gold forged weapon in the game . secured is arm gear+ 2 rings that x2-4 damage done with bare hands (works if one hand have shield) authoregeneration and more

Iraklis is a lot better than it seems on the stats, it actually has very comparable DPS to Bitter End assuming every fourth hit is a crit. Just getting lucky enough to crit on every third hit bumps the DPS well above every other longsword, though of course that doesn't happen consistently. Unless you like using lash/arc I think it's definitely the best longsword in the game if you can put up with a few unlucky strings of hitting enemies with a wet noodle.

A slight correction: only if it's a positive effect. If it's negative (25% chance of breaking, for example), it will most likely mean 100% on the first hit.

As a warrior player for most of my 1200+ hours of DD:DA, I'd say you missed one caveat of Iraklis vs. Bitter End that is fairly important to warriors and that's the stagger and knockdown values. They're 207 units less than Bitter End. I enjoy using Iraklis but it does make it more difficult to get knockdowns and that can be a big deal for warrior if you solo like I do mostly. Really only matters in Post-Daimon BBI but I digress. Great video. Love to see Dragon's Dogma content. I just hope DD2 lives up to the hype. I'm trying to stay grounded in my expectations.

Love to see Iraklis getting some love, fun pawn build: keep warrior pawn as low level as you can, equip Iraklis, hydra set, Augments Exhilaration, Vehemence, Clout, and (Tenacity). hilarity ensues, assuming it wasnt fixed, but trick is keeping pawn as low level as possible. play on easy, farm (small) rats in the stable in casardis for Disciple points without much exp gain. very tedious, rewarding? not really.

Hmm, last time I played Dragon’s Dogma, I was pretty convinced Mystic Knight was my favorite class, but I never tried this weapon as a Warrior. It’s like a demon possesses the sword and is the once who decides when it is time to kill. I don’t know about the debuffs though. I guess I’ll find out when I try it.

Using a mod called dinput.dll hooks. It's on the nexus. Let's you change the weather to whatever you want along with many other things.

The problem here is defense. On small, consistent hits defense gets applied to every strike. Getting the occasional x9 hit is still only reduced once. Without that "balance" shattering caveat it would probably average out. Instead we just need to roll the dice as many times as possible to win...

Of all the classes... I say Warrior's risk to reward ratio is terrible. Even with Mage you may not get anything flashy but grand ingle in itself is wicked good against a vast majority of the game. ... But Ikralis?... I... I hate to say it, but this video and the other warrior breakdown have made me understand why I never vibed with it. And beyond that... Why I SHOULD... I now believe. They should just have a sword called "Doom" it deals 1 damage but very rarely it will instantly kill any enemy at a whopping ten percent chance. The game should never explain or elaborate on this and the description should just be "It is a sword of doom"

While fun I think it's a shame Iraklis doesn't really change how you play the game, specially since Warrior already suffers from simplistic and repetitive gameplay. Hopefully they make skill combos actually worth it with Warrior in DD2.
