When I was a child, I was fascinated with the crowns the shah and his queen wore in that one major ceremony they had. I remember clearly how much I loved looking at those crowns..And those royal outfits. I didn't know why back then but now I do..

+Teodora Cristea Yes my friend, during the Shah of Iran's rule, Iran was like this. Then the United States and England installed a coup d'état which overthrew Iran's Monarchy and democracy, and they installed an extremist Islamic Supreme leader by the name of Khomeini into Iran. Iran became a forceful Islamic republic, and carried out mass executions just years after, and endured the Iran-Iraq war, when Iraq saw that Iran had weakened under the Islamic rule. Very sad fate :(

***** the Shah slowly began breaking free from the west, and the prime minister nationalized oil. Iran wasn't letting the west take advantage of them anymore, so the west DID IN FACT carry out a coup which resulted in the revolution. Please don't send out false information
@TabbyAngel28 жыл бұрын
***** your information is not correct. They supported the anti west ayatollah because before he was actually deceptively "willing" to engage in providing Iran's oil to the US without the talk of nationalizing it, and seemed like a good new puppet to control. The reason for the coup was the nationalization of the oil from Iran's Prime minister, and the distancing of relations to the US from the Shah. In the end, the ayatollah turned on the west with the extreme anti west, islamic narrative (karma).

Beautiful indeed. But this is one side of the coin, of how Iran used to be. Under Shah, the opposition was oppressed, he and those who surrounded him, were enjoying wealth and prosperity while the people outside of Tehran were starving, lacking proper medication and lived in really humiliating conditions. Shah, like all known dictators, created his 'police' group, the famous for their torture methods SAVAK, loyal to the bone to him, and they had the permission to kill, torture and execute anyone who they thought were against him. The only reason West tolerated him was because of the country's oil and wealth and for being anti-communist. As soon as Khomeini took power, the USA and France were among the first nations in the world who recognized his regime as a government, betraying Shah. That was because Khomeini never dreamed of creating a country like Iran is nowadays, so hardcore and fanatic. So, before you take any solid conclusions its good to know the history well and what was behind Shah. The image of Iran this video presents, is just how Shah's supporters wanted to believe their country was because they couldn't care less of the people's religion and customs and needs. Unless you want to believe that they are all lunatics who one day woke up and said "lets go kill all these good people who let us live freely". Saying all these, im not implying that what followed Shah's era was good or better or worse. Its one of the same more or less. When opposition is silenced, one way or another, you create hatred and fanaticism. This was what Shah never realized, and this is exactly the same mistake the current islamic leaders of Iran are doing.

And this is how Shah supporters talk and react to criticism of their beliefs. Thank you, you just proved my point. Intolerance to criticism. Are you also gonna send the SAVAK to me? :) Oh wait, they are all gone, together with Shah :) Nevertheless, i wish your country to get rid of the fanatics, of either side, and find real prosperity one day soon.

Ayatollah Khomeini must have died a very sad man. He wanted to be Iran's Nelson Mandela, spoke about equality and ended up leading an Apartheid (against women) regime more like PW Botha. The Khomeini family after his death never had power in Iran and are among biggest opponents of the Revolutionary Guards regime. This means Khomeini did not want what happened and was too old and poorly to be able to do what he REALLY wanted.
@irannetwork74678 жыл бұрын
Khomeini got what he wanted. What are you trying to say. He slaughtered thousands and suppressed millions.
@sakda3578 жыл бұрын
Khomeini is muslim. He is happy as long as Iranian people was oppress by Islam. Muslim mean subservient.
@vickiewupdafox59658 жыл бұрын
I don't think Khomeini got what he wanted. He was used as a symbol by much younger men who benefitted and have repressed the Iranian people from the 1980s onwards. Khomeini's family were not one of the families who benefitted and it was all the Khamenei, Rafsanjani and military men who really got what they wanted and who sadly benefit from Iran being poor and not reaching its true potential. These very same people are the ones who want to scupper Hassan Rouhani's reforms and other reformists' attempts to improve things now or in the past.
