Iran has the largest and most capable ballistic missile arsenal in the middle east. The Islamic Republic is the first country to develop a 2,000 km range missile before developing a nuclear weapon, giving them the ability to accurately strike anywhere in the middle east including Israel and eastern europe. According to their own Ministry of Defense, Iran ranks 6th in the world for missile production. To give you an idea of how the missile program is viewed in Iran take a look at this public billboard on display in the country written in Persian, Arabic, and Hebrew. It shows their new hypersonic missile and it says “400 seconds to Tel-aviv” Gen. Kenneth F. McKenzie Jr. the former head of U.S. Central Command said this to the Senate Armed Services Committee last year. “Iran has over 3,000 ballistic missiles of various types, some of which can reach Tel Aviv, Over the last five to seven years, they have invested heavily in the ballistic missile program. Their missiles have significantly greater range and significantly enhanced accuracy.”

In general you don't have to worry about war with others if you leave them alone. For example, don't sanction them, don't invade their neighbors, don't seize their assets, don't topple their government, don't prop up a dictator for two decades to oppress them etc etc.

Iran's missile doctrine is not just general, but it has become more accurate and deadly. Now the accuracy of some missiles with a range of 1400 miles is less than 10 meters and this is really unique. Regarding hypersonics, they have also made significant achievements in ballistics and cruise. However, the ballistics sector is much more mature. It is clear that Iran has two fully professional armies, and the development and research of missiles is mostly pursued by the IRGC.

Regarding Iran's sanctions and economy, just at the end of 2023, Iran finished its negotiations to join the Eurasian Economic Union, which includes Russia, Belarus and some Central Asian countries. It has been reported that "almost 90%" of goods can now be traded freely between Iran and the other EAEU states. The deal included a banking agreement which enables Swift system-like payments between the member states. So, Iran's economic isolation, which Russia formerly took part in, has now significantly decreased. This will likely boost Iran's economy.

The US has never invaded another country for its resources. The US purchased Alaska from Russia. The US oil companies did deals with sheiks for rights to drill for oil. Those countries then nationalized (confiscated) US companies assets and began operating them for themselves. This evokes retaliation and regime change. The US has only ever declared war against violent aggressors. You don't want to get nuked? Don't pearl harbor holocaust.

iran has sanctions but even the people aren't struggling. most of the people get a slice of the pie from oil and other natural resources exports due to the fact they are state owned. iran, like russia is largely self sufficient so we parade sanctions around as being something which is crippling them, when in reality, it isn't. i've been to iran, i've seen first hand all the freedoms and modernised technology they have. while yes, it is all typically concentrated in the larger cities, it is exactly the same as we do here in the uk where london, birmingham, manchester and so on get all the brand new tech and things to improve their QOL, way before the smaller towns and rural areas. most of the people there aren't struggling, they are happy and content and some of the nicest people i've ever met

Iran is not trying to have capability of striking the US. The ability to strike Israel, and US bases in the region is more than enough, and far cheaper. Having anti-ship capability with good accuracy is more than enough of a deterrent as well. US's military dominance in the past was largely because their naval fleet enjoyed immunity. This is obviously no longer the case.

To those coming here to "mock" the demonstration Iran showed today, did you watch this video at all? If so, do you think this video was talking about Iran only possessing 200 missiles and drones? The news would be quite different had they used any of vast swathes of the higher tech missiles shown here. Iran said they have made their point and stopped for now, further showing that this was a demonstration and a threat to back off. We can only hope it doesn't escalate further than this...but I'm not holding my breath. Also, defense is incredibly costly; far more costly than sending outdated, easily intercepted missiles.

Free Palestine. Why this Jewish state was not built in the US of America ? As of the 1930s, the Jewish population in the United States was estimated to be around 4.2 million. Meanwhile the Jewish population in British Mandate Palestine experienced significant growth due to Jewish immigration from Europe. According to historical estimates, by the late 1930s, there were approximately 400,000 to 450,000 Jews living in British Mandate Palestine. This demographic shift played a significant role in the development of the region's demographics and ultimately had an impact on the political dynamics that led to the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948. When majority of the Jews were in USA why not give them a state there its simple 4,200,000 in USA vs 400,000 in Palestine. In simple words "Why was the State of Israel not established in the United States, where the Jewish population was much larger than in British Mandate Palestine during the 1930s?" Why come and live in a place where supposedly everyone is their enemy?

Iran, Russia and China as part of BRICS could be a formidable opposition to the current western hegemony. I think BRIC itself might separate into two blocks, one with Indonesia, South Africa, Iran, China and Russia and another with India, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Brazil in another because of the rivalry between India and China and Saudi /UAE and Iran….the former block might be open to trading in Yuan…we’ll see. The India/Saudi /Brazil block could be the new non-aligned group that plays nice with the West and still has a more independent policy. If they can get Singapore, Mexico and Nigeria to join them it would be pretty formidable as well…they would still rely on the West for their weapons since none of them are top tier weapons manufacturers (yet)…they can always get Turkey to join at some point.

when you cant have army, navy, and air force as advanced as your enemy, you can still hurt them badly with perfectly precise long range attack from missile. that's just purely genius

Literally impossible as long as aggressor ideologies like Islam and socialism exist. Sure, a technologically advanced society can co-exist with them, but they’ll never stop trying to destroy it, no matter what. Defensive technology will always be a necessity and so will offensive technologies, for when they don’t the message from the first one.

Not all liquid fuels require fueling the missile right before launch, the Scud-B the Shahab-1 is based on uses IRFNA and Kerosene which is a reasonably storable combination.

Kudos to the Iranians for effectively achieving significant and tangible milestones, in the pursuit of viable, effective, strategic and tactical deterrents against their adversaries. Like them or not, the Iranians are not in the business of making things easy for their adversaries, and their flexibility, creativity, and ingenuity in this regard are definitely impressive.
