Iraqi Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr calls upon OIC and Arab League to meet over Quran burnings

Influential Iraqi Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr called upon the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League on Thursday to meet over Quran burnings in Sweden and to show their support for Islam.
In the same statement he called upon countries to outlaw the burning of the Quran and said that the Christian man who burned the holy book does not represent Christianity and that the Iraqi government must protect Iraqi Christians.
Sadr’s supporters stormed Sweden’s embassy in Iraq on Thursday and set it on fire in response to a plan to burn a Quran in front of the Iraqi embassy in Sweden.
Last month an Iraqi refugee burned a copy of the Quran in front of a Swedish mosque, leading to an outcry in the Muslim world.

I have a theory that the less spiritually profound someone's religious experience is, the more easily offended they become regarding it. If one's professed beliefs are deep and absolute, then nothing can really challenge or threaten that reality. I am a Christian from the southern indian state of Kerala. The Prophet (pbuh) is not mentioned in our Holy Book but still we hold HIM in high regard. The Holy Koran is a book of our brethren and should be appropriately respected.
