I used to work for a South Korean, brought up there, married in arranged marriage to an American korean girl - and was in the ROK army. During the boot training, the sarge marches them down to a pond, in winter, yet, and orders them to kick the ice open then jump around in water up to your neck and cross the pond. Or go buy your own, and go shooting. It's always more fun to go to the range with a friend or two (as it is with anything, being social creatures)... but going by yourself is better than not. Unless you're too young to purchase such stuff. Also, if you just can't afford it, many ranges will rent you guns for range use. But if you never grew up around guns, and firing them yourself when you weren't even 10 yet, then it probably is a decent idea to have someone around that know what they are doing, even though it isn't that complicated at all. The smallest mess up with such stuff could be life or death though, therefore it's good to have someone to learn the basics from. P.S. Also, if you begin doing something the wrong way when you are shooting, it's a lot harder to break you from that bad habit than it would have been to just train you the right way before you picked up and got used to such a bad habit.

It can often save lives and doesn’t create so much hesitation as using deadly force. Many cops miss because of poor training but worse then that it’s the adrenaline dump and their inability to make the best decisions as well as lack of fine motor skills when it happens. 40 mike-mikes, pepper balls and even skip shots go a long way in offering real life experience and it’s less likely to cause death. Regarding the 37 mm grenade launcher, in 1968 Army infantry combat in RVN (prior to adoption of the M203) we were still using single shot break-open M-79 40 mm grenade launchers. Each of my two rifle platoon's squads had two M-79 grenadiers. They used starshells and parachute flares shot from them to illuminate targets at night, more often than you'd suspect. ... It's germane to mention that passive night vision optics was in its infancy at the time. "First generation" Starlight scopes were large, heavy, bulky and used difficult to procure, proprietary batteries. As we only had one in each of the two platoons with which I served in combat, they were less useful than you might think. Depending on the platoon, its current strength and the tactical situation, we might divide the platoon into 4, 5, or 6 positions on an RON or night ambush. That would mean there was a Starlight scope in only 25%, 20%, or 17% of the platoon's positions on a night ambush. The ability to use the M-79s for quick, local illumination was very useful tactically. ... Of course, in a riot situation you describe, it's a "target rich" environment. ... ... Great, thought provoking video guys. Thanks! ... ... EDIT: ... BTW, while I was in Vietnam, the ROK Marines were also there. They were legendary fighters at the time. It was their militarily savvy descendants that held the high ground in their tight-knit community during the LA riots. Leftist thugs who attempted to loot and burn Little Korea in LA quickly found themselves in deep kimchi!

A Mossberg 590M 12 gauge, full-size, or a shockwave, with either the stock 10 round magazine, or a "20" round magazine is rather formidable ... outfitted with a Crimson Trace LS250 laser just makes them that much better.

100% in favor of the Beretta 92. That gun is very smooth and reliable due to it being a full size 9mm handgun. It's not the best by far as an everyday carry, but definitely the one handgun I'd grab in a SHTF situation.

Most experts recommend a weapon light mounted on your firearm. I understand the need to identify your target. I can also see that a firearm mounted light is creating a very bright target for the assailant (bad guy) to aim at.
@randycisneros41114 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you Steve, why give the bad guys a perfect target to shoot at. None of my firearms have lights mounted on them. Glow in the dark front sights work for me on some of my hand guns.

Actually Boba Fett’s gun is based off of the Webley and Scott flare launcher no. 1 mk. 1
@KanoFett14 жыл бұрын
Eric- as a gun nerd and a Star Wars nerd, I have to correct you on Boba Fett’s blaster. The EE-3 Carbine from BlasTech Industries used by Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back was made from a WW1 Wembley & Scott number one mark flare gun. The S&W you had on this episode, but with the tactical stock as you said- is used by the “Mandalorian Death Watch” on the new Disney Plus series “The Mandalorian”. You did good though- and always a bonus to see Mr GunsNGear join you. Keep up the good work.

From airsoft wars I learned it's all about capacity. As soon as you have to reload you're dead. A lot of people may laugh but paintball, airsoft and similar guns are as close as you can get to actual combat other than actual combat. It's taught me a lot about gunfighting. Nah, even if you can't afford them now that the urban dwellers are realizing that they should have purchased guns back when we told them to, they will come back (production is blazing on these things and ammo will come back as well). If nothing else, just pick one up from the field after things get hot. Plenty of bolt guns left, and a bolt gun is just one round from an AR the first time you spot a soyboy with pink hair carrying one.

@lastmanstanding-xp3ub4 жыл бұрын
@@pliskenx51mm83 people underestimate m1 carbines, its basically similar to a .357 in my opinion, not quite as much punch but pretty close. Theyre light, handy, and don't really kick much, the only problem these days is theyre getting quite expensive, best way to get one for a reasonable price is to find a private seller who doesn't really know theyve went up in value lol, thats how I got an underwood for 500 recently, but yeah theyre an excellent all around rifle and if you can pick one up you should
@TheBucketSkill4 жыл бұрын
@@lastmanstanding-xp3ub It's literally more powerful than .357 magnum. Look up velocity and energy values... 1300 fps for 357 meanwhile nearly 2000 fps for .30 carbine. Love the 92. Metal frame, super durable, extremely smooth - I have a hard time picking between a SIG P-226 and the 92. Now if you're gonna carry a PCC / sub gun and a pistol - the Beretta CX4 Storm pairs extremely well with the 92, they can use 92 magazines. I REALLY want a CX4.

I carried an M-1 Carbine during the L.A..Riots in ‘92. (Pico & Vermont). Light weight, easy to handle . I carried probably around 300 rounds fairly comfortably. I also had a Pre-‘64 Winchester Model 12 ( no disconnector- slam fire) in Riot Gun configuration. I would recommend #4 -#6 turkey shot. More usable patterns at fighting distances. Most engagements are in the 75-150’ range. Always keep some magazines loaded with armor piercing for use against vehicles.
