While I certainly agree with guys but you also need to remember that not even 2% of the population during the colonial era actually fought for the revolution. Most did not even care and large swaths sided with or were sympathizers to the British. Hell it was so bad had it not been for France and a little bit of the Dutch we would have lost the war effort. Is the law retroactive? However it would be hard to have an eventual retroactive gun law in US. We are talking about millions of guns and potential fellons. A law also needs to be enforceable to be a law. If tomorrow all the 80 millions "american red hats" decides to invest 50 dollars on a receiver the gov would not be able to do jackshit, they would probably try to go after ammo and good luck with that.

It's one of the most fun and satisfying things I've ever done as a gun owner. It's not about trying to get around some "law" or anything like that for me. The only issue I've had in a sample of 13 Anderson lowers is that one had a burr in the rear takedown pin detent channel. That burr prevented the detent from contacting/holding the rear pin in place; one hand twist of a 5/64 bit fixed the problem.

@one night you can print the followers and a mandrel to wind piano wire to make a spring. The 3d printed groups are working assuming no firearms components, the FGC9 2 will require no firearm or airsoft parts to work

Back in the mid 70s my Grandma (Grambo) bought two h&r .32 SatNightSpecials at Gatling's Auto in PA. She bought the first one & decided a year later to get another. @Mark DeLabete in relation to the law yes. I was thinking more in relation to items bought in the past. There would be no question in the UK they just apply it to the class of firearm and that's it. You lose ownership or go to prison. I think the general public are starting to realise that's not a great idea when it affects them, lockdown etc. Blanket bans or restrictions on the law abiding are always political rather than logical.

According to an ATF agent retired now but still coming forward , the AR platform does not qualify as a firearm because a fire arm is a housing that holds all the mecanisums the trigger , bolt , hammer ect. The AR platform isa upper and a lower the lower does not hold the bolt or the hammer . You have to assemble it to create a weapon . Look on guns and gadgets it's there

I scored myself an SKS just before the pandemic hit us. After a good, deep clean I have a reliable semi-auto 30cal rifle. I keep it in its original configuration so its not likely to draw unwanted attention since it appears to be a harmless traditional rifle, much like a Mini-14 or Mini-30. When placed among my bolt actions, it is even further camouflaged.

I'd suggest a few 80% lowers too. These stripped lowers are STILL FFL NICS check items that, technically, put your name in a file with a "firearm" that they wish to ban (and confiscate). An 80% lower doesn't require an FFL or background check (thus no ATF paper trail). They aren't that difficult to mill with a drill press and end up with a perfectly fine lower that the US government has no idea exists.
