Theres a balance between soft enough for slow tec Gnarly rock traction (trials) and then having a tire that wont come apart ripping through fast paced hard terrain. Personally, Ill take a soft gummy type tire for traction any day between the two, even if it only lasts a race or 2.

Thanks for the review. You've almost helped me make up my mind for my next tire purchase. Can you tell me what bike your riding? I'm on a yz450fx. Thanks again.

Have you ran the regular ve33 on your current bike and in the same terrain? I'm curious how the regular 33 vs 33s compares. I am using the 33s now and really like it but considering trying the regular later on.

I've never ran the original because I never really heard great things about it. From what I've heard, it wears good, but doesn't really get great traction once the edge is wore off. That's only based on other people's opinions though. I do think if you like the VE33s, your not going to get a similar feel at all from the original.

How does this tire compare to the ibex?
@wallyjoiner452 жыл бұрын
Overall, I would say that the VE33s gives up a little bit of initial traction performance to the Ibex in exchange for being a much more versatile tire. The casing is heavier and rubber compound not quite as soft as the Ibex. A lot of people, including myself, have a hard time keeping knobs on the Ibex for very long. In my experience, I would say that while the Ibex has all of it's knobs, it is stickier overall for extreme terrain, but the VE33s traction will last longer and keep its knobs longer. Also, I think that if you want to ride some faster, easier stuff, the VE33s handles substantially better.

Lol. Never even noticed that until you said something, but watched it back again, and you're right, his tags are a bit annoying. 😂
