One thing I've said since this last episode: I could easily see Irene become another Vanjie or Shangela and come back on another season (maybe even the next one) to give us more of herself than we saw here. She was such great TV in just this one episode, and if there's any first out in recent years who deserves to come back on the next season, it's her.

It could have also been production trying to hide how bad Irene did in the lip sync. I wasn't there but what if what we didn't see was worse? Major production knew she'd be strong for later and wanted her to go out on a high note rather than highlight her horrible lip sync

I feel the same. An edit isn’t always about hiding another queen doing well in preference of another. Sometimes queens just don’t turn it out, they’re humans. Many ppl on the show have said they edit the lip syncs to highlight the queens best moments, yeah every now and then they show mess ups that make for great tv, but in general I feel they portray everyone as best they can

Unlikely, they'd highlight mistakes (eg. Farrah Moan, Akashia) for the drama and then, should Irene ever come back to the franchise, use it as a storyline. If she doesn't come back then they've had a great TV moment. Upon any return she'd either be made to relive the incident in detail (think of how many times we see those who got sent home at Snatch Game or on a DIY challenge get made into the subject of the corresponding episode on Allstars) or 'prove' just how much she's improved. That's what reality TV loves to do.

I also like to pay attention to where the queens in the back are looking. Often the camera will focus on one queen however the rest of the queens are all clearly watching the other. That speaks a lot to me. They’re impartial mostly, it would be hard to rig the shot to show them looking somewhere else and I’m surprised production hasn’t paid more attention to that.

I like the new ranking system as much as anything you come up with. One major flaw: I don't know if we can use it to determine whether the lipsync was rigged or judged fairly. It certainly is capable of showing which queen got the favourable edit, but it's just that. They chose to highlight Amethyst, but maybe Irene was so much worse that they decided to cut out all the bad parts and portray it as somewhat even. Even the confessional proves that.

Since about a year, we can predict the lipsync winners with great accuracy after about half a minute in. The winner will be on screen more, and will be given better shots. But more importantly: the _loser_ gets more wide shots, seems like (s)he is shown in slightly paler colors, the shot tracking is slightly less tight (a bit more shaky), and less interesting moves are shown. I'm sure most viewers will be able to determine who did it best when you'd show both lipsyncers side-by-side in the same way. They don't need the "help" of the producers. But of course, the producers have story lines to milk, so the viewer is tough out of luck...

The S14E4 lip sync with Kerri Colby vs Alyssa Hunter was rigged. Alyssa killed Kerri in the battle but everyone loved Kerri so they weren’t getting rid of her. And production trying to spotlight the money gun blunder and using that as a reason for elimination was BS.

If Irene hadn't explained that the 'drama' she was causing was just usual drag banter, or if Amethyst hadn't admitted to a past sexual history with another contestant, then I think Irene would have stayed. She had interesting drag and was great in the confessionals and werkroom. Unfortunately, she outed herself as not being a 'true' Bitch Of The Season (which is going to Luxx, so far) and it worked against her. I'm not counting her Talent Show at all because it's known what we saw was manipulated before, during and after recording. Irene herself has suggested additional editing to the performance audio took place. As always, my opinions and based on viewing a highly edited version of reality They bear no weight against the actual talent, personality or qualities of the queens because we simply *do not know* their true selves from what we see/hear on the show. 🖤

Reaction shots as a whole have gone down hill a lot since a number of seasons. The producers really find it necessary now to add a (fake) reaction shot after just about anything, because imagine if a viewer would not know what to feel about something...! Ugh, make it stop please.

i really don't think it was rigged at all just because a person was shown more doesn't really mean anything for rigging because when you look at a lip sync like pangina vs janey, pangina was shown so much more than janey but the only reason for that was because pangina was doing a way better lip sync. i do agree it can be rigged but i think this time it wasn't rigged at all because from what we saw it was either amethyst win or double sashay (when you edit like this you can still see a queen clearly doing better even if you try your absolute hardest to make the edit not seem rigged ala monet vs jinkx. but this time i really didn't see anything that said to me she should've won) + with irene blaming editing for her talent show wouldn't she also blame the editing for the lip sync if she truly won? idk no hate to irene but i feel like amethyst won fairly plus i just don't see in the producers eyes rigging out irene if anything i thought they would've rigged it for her to stay.

Who cares if the editing is rigged, it doesnt matter because the editing only supports a decision that was already made during filming, so prior to the editing. The editing is there to support the developpment of the show and the decisions that are made. So you can say that the judging is rigged rather than editing.
