Irfan Habib: Interpreting Indian History

I am 61 years old my subject was medieval history in graduation and had opportunity to read Shree Habib sir and view of many historians and still I continue to read history books . What I learned in history is that many historian are biased while writing Indian History secondly history always comes with new facts with modern research . How eminent historian advocate what they have written is correct and final . History is not one man and one book show . In the history of world many nation , history has been rewritten . In our childhood Ashoka changed after Kalinga war and it was due to Buddhism but new research find Ashoka was already adopted Buddhism before Kalinga war this is one example . Before partition Indian has one history and after partition Pakistan has new history . So in my opinion history has been written and rewritten and impartial historian should not make hue and cry if Indian history is rewritten we are already late in rewriting Indian history .USSR historian had written history of Ukraine according to their view point and Ukrainian historian have rewritten Ukrainian history making Ukraine history a new chapter a new nation different from USSR history .
