Irish Accents One Hundred Years Ago

Eight recordings of how Irish people spoke one hundred years ago, from all four provinces. The voices are those of Irish Prisoners of War who had fought for the British Army before being captured by the Germans. The German linguist in charge of this recording project, Wilhelm Doegen, would later be invited to Ireland to record the surviving dialects of Irish in the Gaeltacht.
