Might end up watching this over and over until i get the names correct. I have noticed that some of the letters in some of the names are silent and when I read the names in a book my brain wants me to pronounce the letters but I think that is the English learning that is messing me up. I was folding laundry and putting fresh sheets on my bed at 1 in the morning when this video, saved to my playlist, popped up, and I found myself attempting to pronounce the names and titles as they were listed. I can say maybe a third of them properly, the others elude me still because Irish is a complex language for my California valley girl accent (lots of hard consonants I gotta train out of me hahaha) but it's certainly something I'd really like to learn to speak properly, these names and titles. so i guess any practice is good practice, neh? Small question, and I may be showing my broad ignorant hand here but.... I'm guessing Cernunnos, listed as a 'Celtic deity' under most circumstances, is not an Irish deity, if indeed he is a deity or figure at all, correct?

Hi! Please do not misunderstand this comment as hate. The pronunciation is completely wrong, both for old Irish and modern Irish, r’s are rolled/flapped in all dialects of Irish, and especially in old Irish. The vowels too, you used fully English phonetics for all these names, now this is extremely common in all of Ireland but that is still not near accurate pronunciation. Why I think it’s wrong is because your video is called “pronunciation guide” when the biggest default is the pronunciation used.

@@Ogham The Irish name Tracey is derived from the native Irish O'Treasaigh Septs. The name is taken from the Irish word "treasach" meaning "war-like" or "fighter". It is also translated as "higher", "more powerful" or "superior". It may also be derived from the Irish word for three, with an association to the Tuatha Dé Danann. The meaning of Tracey is "place of Thracius". It is also of Greek origin, where its meaning is "harvester, reaper"..In this case, the name is derived from the Greek thrāssō meaning “to trouble, stir” (apropos, Thrace was also a sorceress). It comprises southeastern Bulgaria (Northern Thrace), northeastern Greece (Western Thrace) and the European part of Turkey (East Thrace). In antiquity, it was also referred to as Europe, prior to the extension of the term to describe the whole continent.
