Lived in mobile homes for first 16 yrs of my life, parents had no planning permission on their nurseries, it wasn’t required then, now it is. For residential properties you able to put sheds up, with very little restrictions, up to 50% of your rear garden.... This guy is being victimised, simple as that....

This is the perfect example of planners having way too much authority . There is one small flaw in the directive regarding planning ...it is quote : at the planning officer's discretion ! . One would think that this term should mean some flexibility but clearly this is not the case . It would appear to be the opposite as is indicated here in this instance as it might set a "precedent " ! In other words the planning authority uses it to strengthen their own hand by simply using it as a negative . We say no because we CAN !

You'd nearly be tempted to try and cost the state as much money as you possibly could in response to being so twisted over the whole situation. No social/economic need for it is bollocks as he's from the area and lived there all his life and known to the people round him, economically it's better to have somebody who's self sufficient and doesn't rely on the state to hand out everything he needs. Well what about the 1000s of foreigners they're welcoming in... if only they'd all take a leaf out of his book. As for devaluation of properties in the area I'td be easy enough to dispell this with a quick visit to the local estate agents shop window where you'd find no evidence of any significant disruption to the long standing carefully crafted supply/demand problem within the housing market. Aesthetics are subjective but it's a damn sight more aesthetically pleasing than the sight of yet another homeless person slowly dying on irelands streets. If they don't like the look of it why don't they have you plant a few trees along the road, or would that be too beneficial to the environment? They're just pissed you're not paying a fortune to rent a house of one of them or one of their friends like everybody else, irelands housing crisis is a national disgrace.
