Thank you so very much for sharing this beautifully put together video ConnollyCove ♥ ♥ ♥. My dad was born and raised in Belfast in 1929 and he use to tell me stories of being a young lad and how his parents were but I am so thankful and blessed for my dad because he was never like that had mates from both sides and it was those in power higher up the political BS that forced there will upon the innocent...Dad loved Ireland but eventually had to leave to get away from it all ...I had always wanted to go visit where dad was born and raised but he never wanted me to experience the hate etc so it was not until he passed back in 2013 June that 2 years later I took the long awaited trip since a wee lassie of wishing to visit and one day live in Ireland or Scotland for both holds a very special deeply within my wee heart ... Your video brought back so many beautiful memories so many ...I even met an angel while there ( big smiles ) ...As I was looking for the Murals I did not know which way to go so I seen this older blond hair blue eyed lassie walking towards me from where the mural of the great Nelson Mandela with the great Bobby Sands is and she offered me help as she told me which way to go she wished me luck and I thanked her and she walked away slowly I turned for second and she was gone when I got to the FREE DERRY SIGN she appeared out the blue again you can imagine the surprised look upon my face and she started sharing stories and told me Derry will be free and the energy is a lot calmer now then before she walked with me for a wee bit and then at the end I asked to hug her and she hugged me back and I asked to please take a picture but she said I am sorry but I do not like taking pictures as they never come out .. Another shocker so then she said don't worry Claire our paths shall cross again right here in Derry I have no doubts ...I felt my dad's energy all around and I knew one day I will truly return ...I feel in my wee heart and know without a doubt Sadie was a special angel sent to help me travel along Derry wishing my dad could have physically made the trip with me but maybe who knows Sadie was sent by him to help me because he loved me so very much and always promised to be watch over and be with me ...Thank you again for this beautiful video and one day soon may Derry and all places that are held for political BS gains only hurting the innocent people of the land be truly free from all the BULLSHIT and live peacefully ... Take good care always :) ... Wishing you and yours and all always loads of peace and hugs and blessings always and love from Toronto, Canada :) Claire ♥ ♥ ♥ Saor in Éirinn agus Alba agus na tailte go léir ... Tiocfaidh ár lá

sorry i did not mean to delate both my comments, Connollycove, your vid was very good, great music, and you did well to cover so much of the street art, i am hope full that things will get better, i was a child growing up in the creggan in the 70s things where very bad, but my nephews and neices grew up in a better north and it will be the children of today that will bring new hope in the years ahead. just a shame the DUP got into bed with the torys and the whole border thing just brings new mistrust and god only knows how that will turn out. But we all have to be mindfull how bad things where in the past not to slip backwords and work hard to bring lasting peace. Hate only brings hurt and pain, so lets hope as the song goes, a bright new day.

:-) No worries at all - wow...tough times in your days for sure. I grew up in Clones, right on the border - and remember crossing the border - the check points, from my childhood - I remember hearing the helicopters constantly - it was one thing I recall from being a kid. The border - is a disaster for us for sure - so hopefully this will get sorted - I no longer think about what it would mean as I would get angry. So we will see. Politics is a mess around the world - no doubt about that...6 weeks is a massive amount of time in politics these days - even Friday is so different from Monday - its crazy! I totally agree with you re the kids today - they will have no memory of the things from the 70's and 80's only what they read, the stories they are told - but will never be anything like living through it - thank god..so hopefully if we can get through this "brexit" we can continue to move forward. It is amazing....hopefully in many years to come we will be telling you kids stories that they cannot believe - as it is so far from what they experience. I think some tough days still to come...its amazing. But hopefully we can forget all about the border and move on...amazing times we are living in. Thanks for your comments! Its been good for a late night chat :-)

It all seems so long ago and so utterly pointless now. In the global world we all live in, what place does sectarian religious conflict between two communities have anymore? Irish people killing Irish people - forget about the politics or religion, its people from the same soil killing, maiming and causing suffering to one another.
@Drifty402 жыл бұрын
Not long ago at all... Irish Republicans are still murdering people today, for their outdated historical ideologies....attempting to hold people of today responsible for 12th and 17th century politics. Ridiculous !
@laffinatyehun8874 Жыл бұрын
The British had been killing huge numbers of innocent Irish people for centuries during their colonisation of Ireland and are one hundred percent responsible for the conflict which is political not religious.
@Drifty40 Жыл бұрын
@@laffinatyehun8874 To hold people of the 21st century responsible and accountable for 12th or 17th century politics and use that as an excuse to murder is beyond ridiculous. No one today is responsible !
