I spent at least 2 years (well, summers) slinging ice cream at a takeout place at one point. I used to love making shakes the most b/c of the possibilities. It was basically 5-7 scoops of ice cream (depending on the size & type of ice cream used) along with about 2/3 cup of whole milk, about 3 tablespoons of flavored syrup (we had vanilla, strawberry & chocolate, as well as unflavored simple syrup) then 3 minutes on the blender. There were recipes for specific, frequently-ordered ones, but I used to like making up my own. "Creamsicle" or "Super Split" - 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream, 3 scoops of orange sherbet, use orange juice instead of milk, and flavor with vanilla syrup Caramel Nut - 3 scoops of butter crunch ice cream, 2 scoops of vanilla almond fudge, milk, drizzle in hot caramel (from the sundae station) during blending.

The hard thing about 'American' milkshakes is that every place has their own way of doing it. Some are mind blowing and some are just meh. There is no ONE American style milkshake. @FireMahoghany Жыл бұрын
While I agree on the no specific "American" milkshakes, I would say that typically a diner has a decent representation on the "classic American", specifically when they offer malted versions. However, one could definitely argue that many ice cream parlors have some of the best, since their focus is main ingredient. My preference, however, is those available at Stewarts Shoppes (regional, I know), because they source ice cream locally, and you can make ANY flavor into a milkshake

There is a place called Cook Out here in the states and in december they have eggnog milkshakes. Very similar to custard so almost can have that. Eggnog I believe is a bit sweeter.

Also adding that as an American, I've never seen or heard of a Kinder Bueno shake. Strange choice. Should have done a classic vanilla or chocolate before the strawberry then cookies n cream and finally shamrock shake 😆. Maybe birthday cake shake or pie shake for extra fun.

American milkshakes. . . I thought milkshake flavors were mostly universal unless you're talking about specific flavors from specific countries such as a Durian flavor matcha flavor excetera excetera

Americans have preferred flavors too. There's a whole thing about our fondness for fruit-flavored candy, particularly citrus and apples. We're basically the only place that eats pecans or even remembers what they are, and a lot of other places don't like mint because they aren't used to it being in things that aren't toothpaste.

You should have given them the little known durian milkshake.😂

They will have to worry about that should they ever try Thai milkshake flavors. Pretty safe from durian in the US. Or so I thought, guess if in Hawaii -the durian growers of America-would probably love to serve them up a fresh durian milkshake, unusual though in the continental US.
