As a resident of Thailand, I have found out that durian contains the enzymes for about 32 different smells and tastes. Whichever 2 or 3 of those you pick up depends on your body chemistry. My wife gets mostly puneapple with some heavy cream and fresh cut grass. I get an even mix of rotten onions and sweaty feet. One time when I had a flu I vomited on a durian display in the supermarket. I was ashamed, but didn't get in trouble.
