@@TK69420 Absloutely disagree with that. Poland has no tradition in beer brewing at all. The amount of typical Polish beer styles equals none (or, at most, one - Baltic Porter). When we speak of "known beer countries" one may speak of Belgium, Czechia, Germany and England, which developed their own singificant beer styles. Up to mid '90s there was literally ONE beer style brewed in Poland, which was the classic lager. And it remained to be the mostly chosen one.

As a musician (drumer), I and another members of our group often played on Polish weddings. So there was opportunity to test many of Polish and foreign alcohols... Comparing another strong alcohols with Soplica (presented too in your film), I was surprised, how smooth Soplica was This vodka never burned my throat and always gently reached my stomach causing nice warm. I can compare it only to French cognac. So I am surprised seeing the bucket under Long Hair Rockman Jesus Superstar jaws. :) 🇮🇪 🇵🇱 👍

I don't know what Irish Jesus' problem is with the vodka... he cringes when he reads that it's 40% (or 40 horsepower as Leather Jacket Guy would call it). That's an extremely common strength for spirits, and honestly I don't think I've ever had a vodka that was less than 40 horsepower.

@Bartosz Zarosa: You are almost entirely correct. Many, many countries have 40% as the standard, and it is a requirement in USA for a vodka to be at least 40%. However, it is possible for European vodka (as long as it is labeled as such) to only be 37.5%. But for the most part, vodkas must be at least 40% ABV/80 proof.

I live in Chicago where there’s a large Polish population. So it’s fairly easy to get some Polish alcoholic beverages. I’ve had Tyskie and Zywiec beer (apologies if I didn’t use the right pronounciation marks). They’re quite good.

lads you should try Hungarian Palinka. It is normally home made from Peach, plum, cherry, pears or anything that has fructose in it. A good home made palinka is often about 70 percent alcohol. But not rare above like 75. 3 shots and you are under the table. Some of them are so strong if you pour into an ashtray you can light it and it will burn with blue flame.

Actually you tried the worst shit Poland has to offer :) I am heavy Polish drinker but if I would drink the same things in the same manner then I would throw up. 1. We have a lot great beers, those you have tried cost way below 1 GBP in Poland. Its literally a piss. 2. We have the best Vodkas in the world as you have one of the best whisky in the world. BUT You have tried some shit which costs like 4-5 GBP and noone who has any mind and dignity drink that. its like enjoying warm red solo Johnnie Walker :) From the lowest and cheapest you should try at least WÓDKA LUKSUSOWA or PAN TADEUSZ. Its vodka made of potatoes, its silky smooth, it has much more flavour. In the middle class you should try BELVEDERE or J.A.BACZEWSKI. And every vodka shoould be cold. Not super cold, but at leats it has to lay down in the frdge for 6-8 hours. 3. In Poland we dont drink like that. We have to have good quality food for that like pickles, smoked fish, smoked ham, decent bread etc. Shot, eat, repeat :) Then I promise you wont have any hangover after maaaany shots. Enjoy.
