Jell-O is a name brand that has become synonymous with Gelatin in the USA. Jelly is what we call the fruit spread that is made only with the fruit juice of the fruit or berry, as apposed to what we call Jam or Preserves or marmalade or butters. Each of these has an increasing amount of the actual fruit/berry in them, although butters are made slightly different from the rest. A popular thing for college students is to make Jell-O with alcohol mixed in, in a square pan. once it solidifies, it is then cut into small squares. These are know as Jell-O Shots. And yes, as you know, Jell-O also makes pudding. When you make pudding you have to say, we're having Pudding or we're having Jell-O Brand Pudding. If you just say we're having Jell-O, then in the US people will think Jell-O Gelatin. The wiggly, giggly stuff. lol

Growing up, whenever us kids got sick and we had sore throats, my mom made us jello juice. We loved it. Mix the jello powder with the hot water and drink it in a mug like a tea. Black cherry is my favorite. Always made us feel better, and soothes the rawness of the throat.

Would much prefer to see them try Jell-O salads, especially vintage Jell-O salads. I believe it would be very entertaining to watch. Personally I like vintage Jell-O salads. some people can't fathom cottage cheese in it. There are recipes with egg, celery, cabbage, ham, even beef tongues. Not all are bad. Some are good. I think watching them try some of those recipes would be hilarious. Of course Dermot needs to be in the video, and some of the other expressive Tryers.

It would so long as you used less water to make the jello. limoncello is pretty high proof so use that as the substitute for cold water, and cut the hot water in half. You'll get jello that proportionately has more gelatin per volume and will therefore firm up better even taking into account the alcohol

We never had plain Jello. Mom would always use the strawberry and put sliced bananas and chopped walnuts in it. Then we'd have a dollop of Cool Whip (fake whipped cream) on top. Other times she'd put fruit cocktail in it. I keep reference my Mom because I never make the stuff in any form.

Tryers! you let it sit out too long!! Jello does not hold its form forever and Its best cold and firm, but as it warms up it breaks down and becomes more watery until its just mushy water. Back in the 1970's, radio stations would sponsor Jello Jumps. People would call in at certain times to win a spot in the grand finale. There would be several hundred gallons of jello and hidden within were tokens for prizes, including the keys for a moped (the first year those came out). The contestants all jumped in at the same time and waded and pawed through the Jell-O in hopes of winning. Pretty entertaining!

The U.S., the united kindom and many other cultures are all very familiar with jellies and jams. Jello-O is not an actual food on its own, but a brand name of artificially fruit flavored gelatin desserts, custard like puddings and pie fillings. Grandma made it a lot. She diced multiple colors into small pieces. Then make a large one with whipped cream and put pieces in to set. Ended up looking like stained glass. She always had several molds so it fits the theme of holiday or occasion. It was great.

In the Midwest as child, at every holiday gathering, there would always, always be some kind of Jell-o with stuff suspended. It helps when you have an upset stomach. Just to clarify: Jell-O and jelly are two different things. Jelly is a type of confitre. Jell-O is a brand name for flavored/sweetened gelatin. I prefer to make my own using fruit juice or a combination of fruit juice and water with granulated gelatin. Gelatin sheets can be used as well. You can use lime or lemon oil to create lemon or lime flavored gelatin. The plate/saucer is not a practical serving dish. Better to serve in a cup,small bowl, or in an ice cream sundae glass.

You gotta try em with the fruit inside the jello. Orange with pineapple chunks in it, strawberry with kiwi or banana in it, lime with strawberry in it, also Jell-O makes a white chocolate mousse pudding that is simply DIVINE! 😋🤤

If you want to make Jello taste more like what its "flavor" is, then there are two things you can do. One is replace about a 1/4~1/2 cup of the cold water with the appropriate fruit juice (make sure to strain it well). The other is to add a few drops of essential oil of the appropriate fruit. I go with a drop or two for every cup. The flavor and aroma will be very rich and strong compared to plain by the box.
