I tear up at this song, means so much, well done, rip danny. Takes me back to Irish funerals and where the valleys grow green and a cup of the mountain dew

Dear Mr. Earspasm Music, first let me say , this video is very moving; well done. Okay, on to the main body of my message, I am a saxophone player, I have been playing on and off since 1977. I have subscribed to your channel as a student of the clarinet's grandson, the saxophone. However, I do own a clarinet, which being a clumsy saxophonist, broke it straight away. I gave it no attention. It just collected dust, and was categorized as another weapon to deter home invasion, next to my trusty, Louisville Slugger. But, through watching your videos, I was inspired, and with my meathooks, I managed to fix it, and I started to play it. It is for me, from outer space; almost. However, it sort of makes sense to a saxophone player (I have a lot of questions, but hey, that's part of the journey). Anyway, blah, blah, blah, you and your video's have perhaps, birthed another future, I hope, clarinetist, ( it is said every time you hear a squeak and squawk, a clarinetist is born). I've named my clarionet "Zuzu"; and thanks to you we are happy together. Anyways, it's a wonderful life, and thank you, so much!

Its the very first time that must admit that a group of clarinetist can actually sound harmoniously and pleasing (for the largest part. of it). I thank you and congratulate you for your arrangement of Danny Boy!

Very nice arrangement, the same as Grainger’s arrangement for symphonic band. Beautifully played. Weren’t you tempted to add a little vibrato to the first part.

Started learning the clarinet in 1964. Made it my life's work, really enjoy this site. Everyone needs a refresher course and learn new things. Granger, played them all, after all these years, one of my most favorite composers.

This is so good! I love Grainger’s work, and as an Irish-American this piece and your story hits home on a few different levels. Also, I don’t know the legality of it all but you should release all of these clarinet chamber pieces on Spotify/Apple music! I’d stream it so much.

Hi, Mike. Hope you're doing fine with the Coronavirus, I don't have a problem I drink Michelob. Now to the question. I have been searching for a while for alto clarinet or basset horn jazz players. I am of the opinion that those clarinets wiil be great in jazz and blues. Haven't been able to find one , there are various jazz bass player but no alto nor basset horn. Seeing that you are a great player and like this kind of things, it will be a nice challenge if you were to review them and play some jazz on them. I think it will be fun. I am looking forward to play them but first I need to learn how to play. The problem is to get them on loan since they are quite expensive. What do you think? Up to the challenge?

Gotta ask... why? Percy Granger was a very open and proud white supremacist. Everyone knows that. Don't get me wrong, I love his writing and understand his importance in the history of the wind esemble... but it is time to let him go. He does not deserve to have his music performed. This is a very, very bad time to post this. Your covers have been consistently cool over the years... why Grainger now?
@earspasm4 жыл бұрын
Andy Rayborn, I wasn’t aware. But let’s think about this for a moment, and I’m more than willing to be wrong here. But, Wagner was famously an anti-Semite, and I’ve played Tristan and Isolde on the channel (and I’m Jewish); Michael Jackson was a pedophile, and I’ve done his music on the channel; Stravinsky was anti-immigrant (ironically!) and I’ve done his music on the channel. Perhaps wrongly, I have separated the art from the artists, and I’ve always chosen to do that. I play music I love and I love this piece.

@@earspasm Now I don't wanna listen to Wagner now Adolf Hitler ruined this composer that was probably just a product of his time
